Pros: - location - the hotel is within walking distance from Van Gogh Museum and Rijksmuseum. Bus 197 to/ from airport stops 50 meters from the entrance. There are several trams taking one to city centre or railway station. There are also various eating options in the vicinity, as well as an Albert Heijn grocery store. - breakfast - varied... More

I stayed here for business over 3 nights, service was top notch and the buffet breakfast was good as well. Very close to the Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh museum, but a bit of a walking distance to the centre, about 30 minutes walk from Central Station. My only gripe was that the pillows were a bit too hard for me... More

I was there twice. One time in a double room in the front part, with a bathtube. Room with a good size and quiet enough. The second time I was also a standard double room, but this was in the back. The room is smaller and has a shower - no bathtube. The problem is that the shower space is... More

We started our 3 week journey in Amsterdam and we couldn't have chosen a better hotel. It was not in the middle of the city, but a quick 10 minute walk (maybe 5 if you have longer legs) will get you in the middle of it. First impressions were not the best. The lobby is cramped, and not representative of... More

Twin room was standard (not too big) everything clean enough (but not perfect) easygoing staff. Very good location: next to the Museums, tram stops and 100 meters away from the bus stop where the airport bus take you for only 5 euros!! The hotel is nice decorated and has an old lift kind of romantic

Approx. 2 months in advance by credit card on internet I pre paid ALL charges for 3 nights stay. The ONLY room offered was at lobby front door, with large window on to very busy street, with very small improvised bathroom, and single bed in room approx. 7 feet by 10 feet in size. Desk clerk initially copied my passport,... More

My husband and I stayed for 5 nts. from lst September and were made very welcome and comfortable. . We had "The Garden Room" No. 4 which was not large, but sufficient for our stay. We could open the doors directly on to the courtyard and as the weather was warm and sunny this was a real bonus. The room... More

My daughter and I enjoy ed a pleasant 5 night stay in this hotel in August this year. We were in room 2 on the ground floor which is at the front of the hotel. The room was nicely decorated but was noisy on the friday night but otherwise acceptable the rest of the stay. The reception staff were very... More

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighborhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
