We had four nights here and recomend it strongly. It is on the main tram routes into town so very handy. They gave great advice for longer term parking (ask at reception!). Well placed for the main muséums that are right next door.

Very close to the Museum Square and Vondelpark. Dam square is 15 minutes by tram, and easy to access. Rooms are bigger than expected, and clean. Beds are comfortable. The only problem is no minibar in the rooms.

Arrived at the hotel before check in. The hotel staff were happy to place our bags in the luggage room in till we were ready to check in. The hotel is centrally located near the iamsterdam sign and museums. The tram is easy accessible from outside the hotel. Also the 197 bus from the airport which is 10 euros return... More

Really nice hotel, very modern and comforting. Comfy bed and nice size rooms. Lovely views of Amsterdam from balcony!! I loved my stay there and all of the staff were friendly. It was my first stay in Amsterdam and everything run smoothly, paying the bills and the tax etc...

Hotel lobby is impressive with it's vertical garden motif. Room is very spacious, clean, and comfortable. Except for some noise caused by a construction by the road, everything was in order. Staff were courteous and accommodated our requests. Location is good, walking distance to the museums. Tram stop is right across the street. Value for money.

Placed close to the famous "I amsterdam" and to the Van Gogh Museum, the hotel has good bedrooms structure but the "non sound proof" will make sure that almost the entire floor will listen to your TV, at least. The crew is very helpful but did not know much about the parking police around the hotel, so we had to... More

Clean, quiet place with friendly, helpful staff close to museums and trams. Local Bistros nearby with fresh fare and inviting people. It was more like living in a neighborhood than staying in a hotel. Housekeeping staff were particularly helpful and friendly.

Very good place, it is well decorated, clean, good bedroom (however you can hear people talking in the room next to yours). Although it is not in the center, it is not too far away from there. It is right beside Van Gogh Museum, Rijksmuseum and pretty close to Heineken Museum. Breakfast is a little bit expensive but well served.... More

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights, and it gets kind of dull after a while. The room on its own was fine (absolutely loved the forest-wall), but since it was located on the street side, there was a lot of noise from the nearby tram stop. They were also doing works to the tracks, so we couldn't sleep... More

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighborhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
