I recently stayed here and wish i didn't, the hotel staff are very nice and friendly however that is the only good thing this hotel has. I stayed in room 16 which is situated next to a public toilet and the main reception area, the room was clean but it was chaos outside my room all night. I was here... More

If you're planning to visit the Museums in Amsterdam then you're not going to get much closer than this hotel, pretty much opposite the Van Gogh museum and on the door step of all the others. The city centre is also just a short tram ride or 20 min walk away, and the hotel itself just a half hour bus... More

Modern. No Frills. Clean and comfortable with large rooms. The location is brilliant for visiting the Museums in the area. The tram stop is literally outside of the hotel with easy access to the City or just walk its 20 minutes to the centre. A direct bus from the airport took us 25 min and stops just across from the... I stayed at this hotel for a total of 13 nights over a two week period, while I was visiting my daughter and son in law with their new baby. The service was very good, staff were friendly and helpful, and the size of the rooms was great, good bathroom as well. I had a room at the back of... More

Everything was fine. No more. The staff is polite, the place is clean and warmly decorated. Our room was big and well heated (not something you'll find everywhere in the Netherlands). BUT It's the little things that made my mind not to return there anytime soon. For example, there is no option to make your on drinks in the room.... More

Modern. No Frills. Clean and comfy but it doesn't mean it is cheesy. We celebrated our anniversary here and got the best happy anniversary note. Such care and thought taken in what was written. It was really sweet. Great location to be close to the museums and coffee shops.

My mother and I stayed at the Conscious Hotel for 5 nights and we had a very pleasant experience. The location close to Museumsplein is incredible and each and every staff member we met was competent and friendly. We definitely recommend to book breakfast at the hotel! Everything is organic, there are vegetarian and vegan options. Great way to start... More

for those who are eco conscious this hotel is great. Rooms are basic and small but comfortable and you can't beat the location. Cause of the eco friendly attitude wonderful bedding (nothing synthetic) Super nice staff and healthy snacks available. breakfast was lovely and super friendly guy serving it. Loved it. So did my five year old

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighborhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
