Great location on the Heerengracht - near Rembrandtplein. Very attentive and friendly staff. "All inclusive" is a plus - free drinks from mini-bar and lobby (whisky, cognac and gin) in room. wifi is free and good speed. Hotel and rooms are a little worn, bathrooms are more up to date. Carpets in rooms dearly needs cleaning and unfortunately make the... More

Stayed here with my family for a night. The bedrooms were very clean and well appointed. The staff was amazing and friendly and went over the top to be helpful. The hotel breakfast was very nice and the cook was super friendly taking time to come out and visit with the guests. Perfectly located near the center of activity I... More

Stayed 3 nights pre-cruise. Wonderful hotel in all respects. Comfy beds, lovely shower, in-room complimentary refreshments, amazing breakfast, and of course the lovely "living room" with the complimentary drinks, goodies, etc. Most major attractions are within walking distance, and those that aren't are easily reachable via the tram stop which is a 2-minute walk away. Hope to come back to... More

Hotel offers full breakfast (with sort of crazy man back there making the eggs). Loved it that they had complimentary wine and cheese each day 5-7pm in the lobby. Rainy day made that the perfect venue! Rooms were good, but avoid top floor with slanted roof. Only disappointment was the cleanliness. Our used coffee cups and wine glasses were not... More

Amsterdam is a great city to walk in and take trams. The Banks Mansion was in an excellent location on the Herengracht canal near Rembrandtplein. It was an easy walk to Dam Square and to Leidseplein and a short tram ride to the Central Station and the Rijksmuseum. The tram stop was just half a block away. The room we... More

Our stay in the Banks Mansion Hotel in Amsterdam was a highlight of our trip to Europe this summer. It is a wonderful hotel in a good location with comfortable rooms (you can even choose the type of pillows you want). The bed was the most comfortable one we encountered while on our trip through five countries. Loved the all... More

The Banks Mansion hotel is conveniently located in the heart of Amsterdam. I recently stayed there while vacationing in Amsterdam and found the hotel within 15 -20 minutes or less walking distance to: 1) Museums, 2) Restaurants, 3) Pub/Bars, 4) Amsterdam Centraal (Train Station) and 5) Shopping. The staff was extremely helpful and knowledgeable in arranging museum tickets, transportation and... More

Just returned from a very enjoyable weekend at the Banks Mansion, despite the weather ! Staff are excellent, very welcoming and always happy to help. The all inclusive concept was unique for this area and we enjoyed the opportunity to have a glass of wine in the afternoon together with a selection of local cheeses. Breakfast was also very good... After reading the reviews, I expected something a bit better than what we experienced at the Banks Mansion. Much was great: the breakfast is delicious, the nespresso machine in the room was welcome, and the sound proofing of the windows was good. The room and the bed (especially the bed) were small, even for European hotels, and we've stayed in... More

Staying in Canal Ring (Grachtengordel)

Neighborhood Profile
Canal Ring (Grachtengordel)
This UNESCO World Heritage Site is as historically significant as it is perennially popular. Whether you’re a history buff, architecture enthusiast, shutterbug, or fashionista, odds are you’ll find the Amsterdam you're looking for while roaming around the Grachtengordel (Canal Ring). A brilliant place to get lost in a moody meander and a key component to any sightseeing trip to Amsterdam, this area's major draws include the Anne Frank House, the Bloemenmarkt floating flower market, an enviable assortment of independent boutiques along De Negen Straatjes, and of course all of Grachtengordel’s lovely canals and bridges.
