We booked our trip through United Vacations and chose the Park Hotel for it's location in the Museum District. The location proved to be excellent. The very high end shopping is a block away as is a tram line. We walked just about everywhere. The hotel staff was very friendly and accomodating from beginning to end. There is a bountiful... More

On arrival we found a friendly and helpfull staff, a nice and clean room with coffee and tea for the exhausted travellers who didn't want to go out immediately, an excellent restaurant in the house. Next morning we woke up in the very center of the town, near Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh museum, Leidse plein, PC Hooftstraat and Spiegelstraat, but... More

I would say that the big plus for this hotel is its location. It is close to the Museum Plein with the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, and boat trips around the city start just across the road. There are plenty of restaurants nearby including the Hard Rock Cafe just across the canal. The city centre is a short... More

We were greeted by very smart and friendly staff at reception. The room was very clean and the facilities spot on. We had a double bed in one of the new superior rooms with ensuite facilities. The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly throughout our 4 day stay. We dined twice in the restaurant and were very impressed with... More

Stayed at the park hotel for four nights. Booked a "run of the house" type of room. The room i stayed in was not the modern lovely looking room featured at the website. My room was rather old and badly needs a revamp. The room definitely does not feel 4stars at all. Location was not as fanastic as i expected... More

Good location, but the hotel is a bit run down and feels a bit shabby, and the room did not feel particularly clean. We did not think it was good value for money.

The room was a nice size however very "tired". The walls were dirty and had gouges in them. The comforter, drapes and furniture were in need of replacement. The first room we got overlooked the backside of other buildings. We then moved to a room facing the canal which was a nice view. The bathroom was updated, clean and other... More

I was staying here on a business trip and booked it based on the website photos, which all show lovely renovated rooms. When I checked in I was given probably the one of the worst rooms in the hotel. A single bedded room in the un renovated part of the hotel. The bed was sagging in the middle and my... More

The good points of this hotel are the staff (particularly Dennis and Kris in the bar) and the location. The bad points are the badly designed, newly renovated rooms which look great but are not useable or practical. The shower has a huge head, but floods the entire tiled area of the room (there is no bathroom) after 2 mins.... More

This is a comfortable hotel with good amenities and friendly, responsive staff. We especially liked the bar for a quiet pre-dinner or after-shopping drink. The location is great, with easy access to main shopping areas, museums and the Vondelpark on the doorstep.

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighborhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
