This year we went there for our annual Amsterdam weekend. The service is excellent, the rooms were all you expect from this kind of hotel. The most amazing was the restaurant. This hotel is home to three Michelin stars. We had lunch at the traditional Yamato restaurant. This exceeded our expectations both in service and food quality. We are definitely... More

The hotel is modern and absolutely beautiful but we found the staff cold and unhelpful. We stayed in a deluxe suite and the room had everything you could need. The bed was very comfortable. It was convenient to public transportation with beautiful views.

The hotel certainly lives up to its reputation as one of the Leading Hotels of the World. The staff are outstanding, and nothing is too much trouble for them. The rooms are large, and their bathrooms are very luxurious. Many rooms overlook the canal below. All of their restaurants are exceptional. Thanks so much for a wonderful stay at the... More

We enjoyed our 6 nights here. We grew to appreciate the quiet location of the Okura with each day we were in Amsterdam. The center of Amsterdam can be dirty and crowded. Our room on the 20th floor had lovely views looking towards the RAI center. We had a deluxe room which was spacious. This location however is not up... More

This is one of the better hotels I've stayed in. Location isn't the best - at least a 10 minute walk to the tram to get to Centraal, but it has a couple of GREAT restaurants nearby (omelleg and Gambrinus). The bar on the upper floors is beautiful and serves some delicious drinks. The view is incredible. The service at... More

We stayed in this hotel in August 2015 with our 7 year old daughter, It really is a beautiful, impressive hotel, the staff were helpful kind and nothing was too much trouble. The room was large with amazing views across Amsterdam (15 floors up), A Pillow menu, a very comfortable full single size bed for our daughter with still ample... More

This was my first time staying at a five-star hotel and I was a bit apprehensive about how stiff the atmosphere might be. On the contrary, I felt very welcomed and very well looked after. I chose it mostly because of its spa-facilities. Outside the city center but within walking distance. Modern setting and impeccable service.

You know that you are in for something special the moment you walk up the private driveway to the Okura and enter a world of sheer magnificence. I’d wanted to stay at this iconic address for some time, and so the levels of expectation were as high as the building itself! The Okura exceeded my expectations on every count! LOCATION:... More

I am impressed by the service level of the staffs. Also, there are pillow options for us to choose from and they were prompt in delivering the pillows to us. Although the location of the hotel is far away from city centre, it is okay for us as we could take leisure strolls and enjoy the sights of Amsterdam. I... More

The Okura is located in the De Pijb district, a little out of the old part of town, which for us was good. Right on a lovely canal, it was fun to sit and have drinks on the lovely terrace each afternoon and watch all the Dutch go by in their boats! The rooms are very comfortable, and the bathrooms... Staying in De Pijp

Neighborhood Profile
De Pijp
Bustling Albert Cuypstraat serves as the main drag through De Pijp and the location for Albert Cuyp Market, the largest and most famous of Amsterdam’s many outdoor markets. Beyond this sometimes-frantic thoroughfare, tiny lanes beckon urban explorers in search of the latest trends and hidden gems. Nearly half the residents living in De Pijp are foreigners and a good number of them are students. Here you'll find a multitude of ethnic restaurants, great cafes and bars, and a brilliant array of locally owned shops, all catering to a broad range of budgets and tastes.
