You can't beat this hotel for location. It is not easy to get in and out of from the street with your luggage but once you are in, it's great. The room we were given was ridiculous--smaller than any cabin on a cruise ship but with less amenities. The bathroom was like a closet and there was absolutely room anywhere... More

Spent a weekend here with my daughter. It's in a great location to explore the city. It was a bit noisy on the 2nd floor facing the street -- not so much from the street traffic but rather from some nearby club with loud music; felt the beat of the music into the wee hours. The room was small but... More

Dear Madam, I do thank you for your kind words in your review. Hopefully you had a great time in Amsterdam and a good trip back home. I am still sorry that I could not offer you another room that weekend but it is good to read that it did not spoil your stay with us. Kind regards, Rob Veeger... More

We have stayed here every time we visit Amsterdam for the last 7 years. I can't recommend the staff and helpfulness of everyone at the hotel. Rooms are very comfortable and have everything you need. Location is fabulous! Will be back again next year!

stayed here for 2 nights on business. Room 412. There is a cupboard next door with what sounded like a generator and the noise causes vibrations in the room. The wall was shaking and the door rattled until I used paper to stop it. The noise goes on all night and affected my sleep. Not sure if this is exactly... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Roode Leeuw. Central location was perfect: an easy walk from Central Station, and close enough to walk almost everywhere. If you use the tram, they're right across the street or around the corner. Dam Square is very noisy (there's an amusement park set up there) but the noise didn't bother us at all... More

I stayed at this hotel for a long weekend to celebrate King's day in Amsterdam. The hotel is less than 10 minute walk from Centraal station - if you walk out of the main entrance of the station just walk straight down the road as you come out (mind out for trams!). You come to Dam Square and the hotel... More

However - I found the room very awkward. There was next to no room in the wardrobe. The sink in the bathroom was too high. The shower head moved round on its own making it impossible to have a normal shower, and the switches for the bed lights were too far away if you are in bed trying to switch... More

Stayed 2 days at the end of a Rhine River cruise. Checked in about 11 AM, and left our bags with front desk staff since no rooms ready yet. When we returned about 2 PM, the room was ready as promised - and the staff had already moved our suitcases into the room! Checkout was fast (early flight to catch),... More

We stayed here for three nights and had a very pleasant time. The room was clean and bigger than expected (third floor). Elevator access from lobby. We arrived super early in the AM and the staff was very accommodating with check out bags early and getting us settled in a room within a few hours. We did not eat in... More
