This was the worst "hotell" I ever been in. And I´v been traveling a lot. First when we came I told the host we will come around 4 p.m. When we came to the door and ringed the bell, no one answers. We tried to call and no answer. We waited there for 30 minutes whit our bags until she... More

altough this place is at a great location it is not all what it seems. The entrance is for the less familiar in Amsterdam very difficult to find. The stairs make the Hillary step on Everest a walk in the park. The room is small and not suitable for 3 people. The host was rude and didnt not respond to... More

I very rarely complain about accommodations, but this place so incredibly unpleasant. We arrived at the time agreed upon via e-mail and had to wait on the street for nearly 40min for someone to arrive. No one answered the buzzer or returned phone calls or texts which is very unnerving and we had started to suspect we'd been scammed. When... More

We were very pleased we booked to stay here, as it was nice to stay in such a quiet part of Amsterdam whilst still being very central. The room was clean, comfortable and smart and we were very happy with the facilities available. The owner was kind and helpful and made a big effort to ensure we had everything we... More

The housekeeper is a rude and selfish woman. She make us feel very uncomfortable just because we disagreed in the reservation conditions. We just wanted to clarify the situation. The place was correct. But she forces us to discuss (what we didn't want) and we lost time and happiness. After discussing during 1 hour, the situation was so uncomfortable that... More

1) Rude housekeeper/owner. This woman was belittling, uncaring and seemed as though she couldn't care less whether you stayed at her place or not. On first meeting her she constantly made remarks about the young age of my friend and I and made us feel stupid. Further on to this she appeared to not know anything, much to the point... More

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighborhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
