The Amsterdam Marriott was in a great location. It is walking distance to many of the attractions you would like to see. Across from the hotel is an area you can do shopping, stroll along canals or find a local eatery. The service was extremely accomodating in every aspect. This hotel is in a great location right next to the Rijksmuseum and across a canal from Liedsplein where there are a ton of bars/pubs. From the airport, take the train to central station. Then, hop on either the 1, 2, or 5 tram from there to Liedsplein. When you get off of the tram, you will see the hotel.... more

This is kind of a psychotic hotel. From the outside it looks like a Soviet-era low-income housing block; drab, dreary, and uninviting. Amsterdam is way overpriced compared to other world cities. For Euro 150 (US$225) , you get a tiny room that totally needs updating.
