Had a weekend here with the family. On site parking, plus nearby street parking is free at weekends. Very easy tram journey into City centre (€7.50 for 24 hour pass). Restaurant for breakfast & evening meal typical (expensive) hotel prices. There are many other food choices in a city like Amsterdam, so you'd need a very good reason to eat in, Rooms nice, clean, attractive - though electrical fault meant we had to swap room - very minor inconvenience that the hotel staff handled very well. Nice clean gym. Wifi is >€20 per day, per device. Ridiculous in the modern age. PCs provided in lobby, but Internet access also needs to be purchased for these. RIDICULOUS HOTEL POLICY.

Dear BingoSpooner, Thank you for writing a review on Tripadvisor. It is great to read that, dispite the inconvenience with the room change, you and your family enjoyed your stay at our hotel. Internet packages indeed start at €8,50 per hour or €22,00 for 24hrs. Internet on our PC's in the lobby is free of charge and should not be charged. If this has been the case, could you please send us an e-mail at sales.amsnt@whgeu.com so we can investigate this. Kind regards, Pascal Aartman

I decided to book again this same hotel after a not-so-good experience last year. I would like to say that this visit was much improved. I had a very nice stay at the Holiday Inn and plan to return next year. My only hope is that they improve on the reliability of the Internet connection - it became difficult to do work from my room in the morning.

I have been staying here for 12 years. Its an easy cab ride from the airport (Euro 35) and then on the tram / metro route to get around. Always clean and welcoming. Best feature is the breakfast bar. One of the best around.

I loved this hotel. It was like being in a quiet, peaceful resort, yet having all the wonders of Amsterdam a short tram ride away. My favourite thing about this hotel was the location - absolutely brilliant. You're in a nice, quiet, part of Amsterdam, away from all the hustle and bustle of city centre, yet you can be in the city centre within 15-20 minutes via a scenic route that gives you a good view of city, or even quicker with the metro that's just a 5-minute walk away. There were lots of other positives too - very nice breakfast - good selection; very friendly and helpful staff; ease of check in and check out; very close proximity to Amstel Park, which even in winter, was a delightful place to be. Angry Birds in the lift - small wonder my kids constantly felt the need to

We stayed here initially with a Groupon deal and then again off our own bat. First time I had modest expectations of a Holiday Inn, essentially thinking it a better version of a Travelodge but nowhere near a Novotel. The hotel is pleasant and reasonably plush, pleasant and clean - much more so than I thought. The little bistro on the first floor does have hotel prices, but is reasonable value with good food and excellent service. Having Angry Birds available in the lifts makes the little boring moments much less tedious! It's located well, slightly out of the way, by the RAI convention centre (think Birmingham NEC just not way out of town). However it's just next to an NS railway station with regular links to Amsterdam Central (change once) and at the end of the tram

I stayed at the Holiday Inn while attending a conference at the RAI. Location-wise it is the ultimate solution as you're a five minute walk away from the RAI. Because of that I'm guessing the hotel is focussed on a businnes audience. For example, a private car park and wifi are available but they come at a price. Room and bathroom are spacious and the room interior comes with a classic (wooden) look. The desk in the room was a big plus. I ended up using it a lot. The only negative worth mentioning is the television set. Such a small screen and bad screen quality! It has come up in a lot of reviews and management should really upgrade this sooner then later. That's why I'm setting the room score to average. I'm guessing it might upset a lot of people. After all the hard working

Dear xof_be, Thank you for taking the time to write a review on Tripadvisor. We highly appreciate your detailed review regarding our hotel, the services we provide and our bartender. TV screens is indeed a topic we are looking into. Should you consider visiting us with your family, tram 4 takes you to the city centre within 15 minutes. Which makes the hotel great for guests who like to visit Amsterdam, but do not want to stay in the city centre. Kind regards, Pascal Aartman
