Fantastic location - opposite the Dam Square & the Royal Palace. Short walk from station, 10 - 15 mins. Room small for a twin occupancy and lacking decent hanging facilities for clothes etc but beds comfortable. Most rooms have a bath so if you want a shower make sure you ask at the time you book. Buffet breakfast available offering... More

Me and a friend stayed here in January for a few nights. The location of the hotel couldn't really of been any better. It was a 10 minute walk from the train station to the hotel and everything else was in walking distance (red light district, bars, restaurants & coffeeshops). If you don't mind walking the Rijk museum and Heineken... More

I couldn't stop taking the picture of the hotel facade... it's a quite beautiful building... with a ton of character... After walking for 12 minutes in a cold rainy morning from the Centraal Station, the warm welcome smile of the receptionist at the front desk helped me and my husband in erasing our early grief quickly and start enjoying our... Stay in this hotel on Boxing day. Although being dated compared to other hotels I've stayed in in Amsterdam, would definitely recommend for its location and friendliness of staff. Breakfast was mainly continental but sufficient. Staff in the bar attached, were extremely pleasant and generous with measures. 😊

I liked this hotel - it's got lots of character and it's within walking distance of most of the places you want to visit. The staff are polite and helpful, the rooms are comfortable, and the Blauwe Parade Bar is a special treat - an authentic Dutch bar with dark wooden booths, an amazing Delft frieze, and excellent snacks. We... More

Lovely, friendly and spacious hotel. It's in a great location but there is a tramline right outside the front of the hotel. The noise at night was so loud I had to go to a store to buy earplugs. It didn't spoil our stay. The hotel was lovely and the staff are really nice. The breakfast is brilliant!! The hotel... More

Very friendly staff! Even before we arrived, the staff was able to help us make arrangements for our New Years Eve celebration! We called from NY and they recommended an amazing restaurant. The staff also took in all our luggage when we arrived quite early and did their best to get our rooms ready prior to the 2 PM guarantee!... More

When we booked this hotel, we knew it was fairly central but didn't realise quite what a great location it was until we arrived. Situated opposite the Royal Palace, everything from Dam Square, Anne Frank's House to Central Station was in easy walking distance. Our room, a twin, was clean & comfortable with a good shower. As we were there... More

This hotel has a great central location a stone's throw from Damm Square. Our room was clean and cozy. One of the few hotels with an in room safe and a safe simple to use. There was no view from our window and we did not eat breakfast here because the price was ridiculously expensive and there are numerous and... More

Stayed here for our honeymoon. Great location. Free wifi. Free safe. Tea & coffee making facilities. Great buffet breakfast. What more could you want. Yes it needs a bit of TLC, and it's a bit noisy (take earplugs) but it is in central Amsterdam and all these benefits make it worth staying. Friendly helpful staff too. Just 1 min walk... More

Staying in Centrum

Neighborhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
