The location of this hotel could not be better. It has a metro station right outside the main door and is 1 minute from Dam square. We booked 2 rooms, one for myself and wife, the other for teenage sons.It turned out they were interconnected which was very handy.Cleanliness was fine.We had appalling weather and it was good to find the radiator actually worked,not... I went to Amsterdam with my wife and two friends in July for three nights. The hotel is located right in the middle of Amsterdam at the side of Dam Square. The hotel is very good with lovely clean rooms. The staff could not have been more helpful. The restaurant was very good as was the food. The restaurant has... More

The hotel is friendly, clean and central for a perfect stop in Amsterdam. The staff are incredibly helpful with bag storage, check in and recommendations. I would highly recommend, I wish we could have stopped longer!

We'd never been to Amsterdam before and once we arrived we congratulated ourselves on our choice of this hotel. While we had en-suite room, the room itself was rather strange with stairs down to the bed in what appeared to be an attic room. But as we were out adventuring and enjoying what Amsterdam had to offer we soon got... More

This was our first visit to Amsterdam and found the location of the hotel fantastic. In fact couldn't have been better as a base for sight seeing. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly and could not fault them at all. The restaurant looked very nice and the bar was really traditional which we were disappointed in not having the... This was my second visit to this hotel in 9 months. It is in a great location, right in the middle of the Dam & only 10 minutes walk from the train station. The staff are very friendly & helpful. The room was very clean & quite spacious, it was nice to have a little kettle in the room to... More

This was our first time in Amsterdam and we didn't really know where the best location to stay was. Die Port Van Cleve turned out to be in a fantastic location, if 2 geographically challenged 20 year olds can find it from central station, anyone can! There are several museums/tourist attractions within a ten minute walk of the hotel, eg,... More

A great location for all attractions, close to the Centraal Station and Dam Square. Rooms perfectly adequate for short stays. Staff were excellent especially Kickie in the bar. The brasserie has good quality food for dinner and competitive prices when compared to other local eateries. We didn't try the continental breakfast as many local bars & cafes nearby that do... Staying in Centrum

Neighborhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
