Great hotel, great location. Staff really friendly & spoke really good English. Lovely bedroom, certainly big enough for a couple of nights away. Decent sized bathroom with everything you need. Spacious lobby with room to leave your luggage before you check in so that you can go off & explore knowing that your luggage is safe

We stayed in Memphis Hotel for 2 nights and didn't have high expectations as it was very cheap. Had booked a small double through a booking agent, but I asked at the reception if they had a twin room by any chance. The receptionist was so kind and gave us a very large triple room with super king size and... More

Only reason it's not one star is because the cost was reasonable. The room was tiny, and the bed was between 2 walls and a cupboard, which isn't great when I'm pregnant (and needing to climb over my partner to use the bathroom through the night) and my 6.3 partner who's legs didn't fit properly! All of that could have... More

The location is in a great neighbourhood with easy access to the city centre via the tram. The staff were polite and friendly. Just keep in mind that the hotel is undergoing refurbishment so things are not quite up to the mark. Such as the lack of breakfast facilities. On the plus side, we were given a spacious room, I... The only reason this isn't a 1* review is the price of the rooms. I completely regret not paying the extra €20-30 for a nicer hotel. The walls are paper thin and we could hear sneezes, burps and all other noises you can imagine as of they were in our room. The highlight of the stay though was that half... More

Small sized rooms, old design and bad smell and no view from the room. Altogether - nothing to look to in selecting an hotel and is considered fine by locals. Nonetheless - the location is OK with close-by transportation - either by Tram or by Bus.

We stayed at the Memphis hotel and found it to be ideal. Great location, just outside of the main hustle and bustle but so quick and easy to get to and fro from. Really enjoyed soaking up the laid back culture and wonders of this fab city. The hotel was a great little find- very clean, friendly and welcoming. Enjoyed... More

This is a charming little hotel, very close to the Museumplein and within walking distance of the historice canals of downtown Amsterdam (for those who like walking a lot!). We stayed here for 7 nights, originally in a top floor room facing the busy street with the trams. This room was spacious, but the noise was difficult for me, as... More

This hotel is okay for a few days. We didn't try the food but the staff were nice and the place was kept well presented. The toilet in the room was tiny, every time I closed the door to sit down I hit my head. The fridge in the room is pointless as it is not cold at all, this... More

I stayed there for business as the hotel is closed to the RAI convention center, basically I enjoyed everything the hotel as to offer. One thing was the WiFi it wasn't strong enough I understood there was some problem in that particular time. Room: Clean, quiet and big enough Location: Close to RAI and not too far from the city... Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighborhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
