Stayed for 3 days with 2 young ones. The hall stunk and the bathroom was vile to say the least. We would've moved if one didn't have the kids. It simply isn't a 4 star hotel. If you need a place to crash then fine otherwise don't bother.

the city centre is quite a distance from the hotel. although tram line 16 runs nearby and goes to the central station, you have to keep in mind 2 things. a) after 00.15 the trams stop the service (just when nightlife starts). b) If after some sightseeing you want to relax and refresh before going out again, you have a... Stayed here for 4 nights at the end of June. Rooms are quite small, but have all the necessary facilities. We did ask to move rooms, as we were in the eaves in a very small room, and the staff were very obliging and moved us the next day. The hotel is on the south side of the city, so... More

This hotel is in the good area near the museum and market. It can be reached from Amsterdam centrum by the tram no. 16 and it is easy to go to the airport within 35 minutes by bus no. 197. The staffs are friendly and have service-mind. It is value for money. Breakfast is also nice.

My Daughter and I have just returned from a trip to Amsterdam where we stayed at the Memphis for three nights. The first room we were in on the 1st floor was very small and quite shabby. I spoke to the receptionist on the morning of the second day and we were moved to a much better room on the... More

stayed here from the 7/6 till the 9/6/2015 I found the hotel clean comfortable and welcoming. The staff were friendly. It was ideally located for me close to the museums and within a reasonable tram ride to Dam Square. The tram stop was practically out side the door . I also found a lovely ice cream shop just a couple... More

I recently stayed here with my two friends as part of celebrating my birthday in Amsterdam. The hotel is lovely and clean, we had a triple room which was very big and well air conditioned. For the price you pay for it, its excellent. The hotel is in a good location which is out of the center. There is a... More

Found a good price for this hotel during the busy season. It's okay. Clean and comfy beds, huge windows for plenty of fresh air which is nice. The wifi is average, simple pages take a while to load. Good location and it's nice to be a little out of the crazy city.

1st time on hotwire and figured I couldn't go wrong with a 4 star comparable to a Westin and Hilton as hotwire stated this hotel is a 3 star at best a holiday Inn/days inn. That said as a 2/3 star and for 50 bucks the hotel staff was friendly, neighborhood feels safe reminds me of williamsburg brooklyn , location... More

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighborhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
