We stayed in a 3 person room for 3 nights in July, we surprisingly got a large room with a balcony all to ourselves which was fab! Was a 10 minute walk to lots of the museums and the iamsterdam sign in the park! There is a small supermarket a short walk round the corner and the man on reception... More

This was our first hotel we stayed in during our trip to Amsterdam. We really liked how close it was to all the museums and other attractions like the IAMSTERDAM sign. The hotel staff was very friendly and curious. I didn't give it 5 stars because of the no air conditioning and how muggy it got. The room wa a... More

This is a comfortable and friendly hotel. Rooms and bathrooms are clean and the beds comfortable. We booked two rooms. The tram to the town centre stops two minutes walk from the hotel. It's the 16 team which goes through the centre of Amsterdam to the Central Station. The stop you need for the Hotel is Emmastraat. There is an... More

It Is a good hotel to stay , close to tram station #16 and a walking distance to museum square and the amazing vondelpark. It has also a bike rental facility. Room service is average. Not much to do at hotel itself. The staff are really friendly and helpful. Nearby within walking distance you may find a grocery shop and... More

Good location - it was very easy to travel around on the trams, these are easy to access from the hotel. The hotel reception/lobby area is well kept. The wifi is very good and was reliable our entire stay. The reception staff were welcoming and friendly, they were very accommodating when we needed to leave our bags at the hotel... More

This hotel is close enough to the centre of Amsterdam to be convenient, yet far enough away that you're not surrounded by tourists. It is 15 minutes away from Centraal station on the number 2 tram for GVB, and has three Conexxion buses running outside the front door. If you don't like taking public transport, a 10 minute walk will... More

We had a good stay here, the ladies on reception were always very nice and the room was clean and spacious. It is close to Museumplein and in a really good area, with organic supermarkets, a really good frite place and a grocers we stopped at every morning to get fruit before heading through Vondelpark to the centre. The centre... More

The room was average at best, stayed here for valentines so expected something better than usual. Decor was outdated and the rooms were very dark and cold. Bathroom could have done with a good clean. Alright for the money I suppose! Would not stay again though.

Stayed for 3 days with 2 young ones. The hall stunk and the bathroom was vile to say the least. We would've moved if one didn't have the kids. It simply isn't a 4 star hotel. If you need a place to crash then fine otherwise don't bother.

the city centre is quite a distance from the hotel. although tram line 16 runs nearby and goes to the central station, you have to keep in mind 2 things. a) after 00.15 the trams stop the service (just when nightlife starts). b) If after some sightseeing you want to relax and refresh before going out again, you have a... Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighborhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
