The staff were very welcoming and remained so through out our stay .We stayed in a triple room ,really good size ,nice bathroom ,good air con.We were only given one key between 3 and were initially worried about that but it was fine .The location was brilliant ,there is a canal boat stop just outside the hotel entrance and a... Can't beat this location. One block from Leidesplein - center for nightlife, restaurants and all the action. Next to tram stop and Prisengracht canal and canal boat rides. Front desk help was excellent with one exception. Made restaurant reservations and provided quick answers to most questions and researched other ones and got back with answers - very helpful and were... More

Pros Awesome location. Safe and sophisticated neighborhood. No smoking rooms. Big rooms and bathrooms (we got canal view). Professional staff. Rooms were clean and toiletries replenished daily. Plenty of places to eat or buy food nearby hotel. Cons Located right on the cable car/ tram so very area is crowded.

We stayed at this hotel for two nights-once before and once after a river cruise. The location is wonderful--you can walk to many of the must see sights and the rooms are quite nice. However, ask for a top floor room, preferably facing the canal. We learned the hard way that, on Thursday-Saturday nights, folks in Amsterdam DON'T go to... More

We stayed here in April 2015 for a five-day break for my 50th Birthday. It's located in a busy, central location, easy to get to from Central Station by tram (taxis tend to be a bit pricey due to the number of one-way streets making it longer to get to your destination). We were warmly welcomed upon our arrival and... More

I have stayed in many hotels around the world however this must be one of the best for many reasons. Location perfect overlooking a canal, staff incredibly helpful and friendly, beds super comfortable, shower and bathroom great, super clean with everything you need and more including lift. It also has great restaurant at reasonable prices run by the very helpful... More

Nice little hotel with a great location. We had a nice room overlooking the canal and there are some really nice local restaurants within a short stroll of the hotel. I would be happy to go there again.

The Dikker room rates are expensive, but the Hotel decor is drab, outdated, and in need of a major redecoration. While its location is very convenient, the street below is noisy and close to a tram line. The breakfast, an extra 29 euros, is a rather mediocre continental meal with little to recommend. Our room, large but quite uninviting, was... More

Dear Christy V, Thank you for taking the time to share your review with us. We are very sorry to hear about your experience with the street noise. Being situated in the city centre it is very difficult to block all the noises from outside. We do have rooms available at the more quiet back side of the hotel, and... More

Picked this hotel after a trip advisor search and we weren't disappointed. Great location in the city for museums and nightlife. Tram stops right outside is a plus and the airport bus departs just a couple of minutes walk away. We found it a lovely hotel, in a typical Dutch house so there were one or two landings to encounter.... More

This was probably our favourite hotel on our European trip. Yes, the foyer is small, but we thought the hotel was amazing! We arrived early and stored our luggage for a few hours while we waited. The service wasn't overly exuberant, but I have read that the Dutch aren't extroverted people. They were helpful and answered questions politely. You do... More
