NH Schiller hotel is a NH hotel on a great location in Amsterdam, the Rembrandtplein. Be sure to go to the right NH hotel, there are two on Rembrandtplein. I tried to check in at the wrong one, but they can see each others reservations so I was easily rerouted to the right hotel. Check in was easy and friendly.... More

I will preface this review by noting that this was my first trip to Amsterdam and by reading previous numerous reviews of the hotels their I have come to the conclusion that rooms are SMALL. My room was very small by American standards but don't let me give you the wrong impression. For one person it was the perfect size.... More

My wife, daughter (toddler) and I visited Amsterdam in September 2007. We were there for a business conference as well as sightseeing and the conference had a certain set of hotels that we could use so we stayed at the NH Schiller and the NH Caransa(separate review). NH Schiiler is right in Rembrantplein. Its literally in the square. You don't... More

We stayed at the Schiller for the Amsterdam Marathon weekend - we have stayed in Amsterdam many times but left booking a little late this time so ended up in this hotel on tacky Rembrantplein..... On the upside, it is very close to the main attractions and trams etc. The rooms were nice and clean but the hotel overall seemed... More

The hotel is situated about 20 minute walk from the station in Rembrandtplein Square area. The reception is large and rustic. All the reception staff spoke excellent English and were extremely helpful. We arrived early but the room was not ready however, they more than happy to store our large luggage cases. There are several cafes and restaurants situated right... More

We stayed at the NH Schiller hotel, during our European Holiday. The hotel is in an excellent location, close to everything!!! We were impressed with the excellent service at Reception upon arrival. Staff were very friendly and spoke great English. The room & hotel has recently been refurbished and even though the lobby is a little outdated, the rooms themselves... More

We booked the hotel mainly down to the reviews on this site for a 2 night stay and where indeed not disappointed. The hotel was first class. They let us check in early upon our arrival (checked in at 10.00am instead of 15.00 hrs.) The room that we stayed in had been recently refurbished and the bed was oh so... More

I can't say enough good things about the NH Schiller. My wife and I flew into Amsterdam at 9am and finally arrived at the Schiller at 10:30am. We had an overnight flight so we were exhasted and needed a shower. The staff was SO friendly and helpful when we arrived. Since it was so early our room wasn't quite ready,... More

My boyfriend booked one night at the hotel as a treat for us after visiting his parents in Holland and we had a nice night. From the train station it was a 15 euro, 5 minute taxi journey which i thought was expensive. We would have walked but it was raining. We arrived at midday and checked in straight away,... More

Wasn't expecting much as the square looked a bit 'interesting' and they are still allowed to smoke in thehotel lobby which is nasty and a bit grotty, but then we went up the stairs to our room which was Awesome!! The views were great, couldn't hear any outside noise and the furniture and decor and toilettries were great and brand... More

Staying in Canal Ring (Grachtengordel)

Neighborhood Profile
Canal Ring (Grachtengordel)
This UNESCO World Heritage Site is as historically significant as it is perennially popular. Whether you’re a history buff, architecture enthusiast, shutterbug, or fashionista, odds are you’ll find the Amsterdam you're looking for while roaming around the Grachtengordel (Canal Ring). A brilliant place to get lost in a moody meander and a key component to any sightseeing trip to Amsterdam, this area's major draws include the Anne Frank House, the Bloemenmarkt floating flower market, an enviable assortment of independent boutiques along De Negen Straatjes, and of course all of Grachtengordel’s lovely canals and bridges.
