15th July 2007 - Chris and Janet, Cheshire, UK My wife and I have just returned from a 4 day break in Amsterdam. We were very impressed by the quality and style of the buildings fronting onto the various canals as well as the choice and variety of restaurants, cafes , museums etc., To cap it all, Hotel Estherea was a... What a delightful experience! We had been warned that there was construction work going on in the Hotel but we saw none--only evidence that everything was newly redone and lovely. Hotel staff extremely helpful booking us restaurants and musem tickets. Great library to sit and read. Excellent buffet breakfast (extra cost) The candies in a jar on the bar were... More

great location, exceptional service and really good value for money. Perfect for a long weekend as the accesibility to the main city attractions is perfect, just far enough away not to be on the tourist trail, and close enough to find it when needed !!

The Esselaar family who own and run the Estherea believe in creating a ‘home from home’ with attention to detail and many charming touches. With sofas to grow old in and treats round every corner, the hotel’s popularity is deserved. Simply, the Estherea is a gem. I found all the staff friendly, polite and efficient. On arrival Igor welcomed us... More

This hotel is highly rated and we cannot understand why when you have so much choice in Amsterdam for others. They first proposed room 405 (standard room) which is a very tiny room with no view (there are others like this one actually). You can actually find better in an economy hotel for far less money. We refused the room... More

From the first second we arrived, my mother and I, the staff was very warm and friendly. They let us see many options for our room before we chose the one we stayed in. The rooms were very well kept with a very fancy decor. The rooms had a refridgerator, safe, hairdryer, ac, heat, and a tv. The hotel had... More

My husband and I stayed at the Hotel for 4 nights, 17th - 21st June and really enjoyed our stay. Our room was lovely and I thought quite spacious, the staff were helpful and we really enjoyed the complimentary refreshments in the lobby, on a really hot day to come back to fresh strawberries and cream and a slice of... Staff friendly and helpful. Hotel is very pretty. Location is great, halfway between the Rail station and museums, short walk to all major sights in Amsterdam. I had a double room. The size is perfect just for myself, but might be a bit tight for couples.

The hotel is in a quiet backwater very close to the centre. In fact the area is charming with lots of interesting shops and restaurants away from some of the busier (tackier) parts of Amsterdam. We booked a deluxe room on the hotels own website and requested a canal view. The room was quite small (but that is normal in... More

This hotel hands-down deserves the Traveler's Choice award (very proudly displayed on their front counter - so cute!). I requested room 417 because I had read it had a really nice canal view. I kind of badgered the hotel about it before arriving, which apparently worked because I got room 317, which also had a nice view. They knew exactly... More
