Absolutely beautiful hotel, exceptionally clean and comfortable with exquisite attention to detail. Breakfast fantastic value for money with an abundance of choice. All staff, whatever their area of work, we're very polite, attentive and helpful - nothing was too much trouble. Perfect location to visit museums, shopping area, cafe's, restaraunts, etc. Won't ever stay anywhere but Hotel Estherea when I... More

This is the sweetest hotel that we have ever stayed. They allowed us to check in early which was nice after our long train ride and there was even free coffee and cookies in the lobby. The room was not only adorable but very comfortable. Our room was smallish but so are most rooms in Europe, ours over looked the... More

Stayed here with my wife for 2 nights for a 'milestone' birthday. A very pretty hotel with friendly staff in a very convenient location for exploring the city. We did not eat in the restaurant but the drinks selection in the bar was good. The bar is small but is a great place for a cocktail before heading out for... More

Great location for walking to almost anywhere in Amsterdam. Lovely rooms, very stylish and spacious bathrooms (114), and we chose a canal view which is a must is Amsterdam. Delicious breakfast with lots of choice and at a reduced price of 13 euros (from 20 euros). Free tea, coffee, and juices in the lobby (and sweets/candies). Friendly and helpful reception... More

I stopped over at this hotel on my way home to DC. I had just spent 2 weeks at a 5 star hotel and yet, this hotel was better in every way possible. First, it is a gorgeously decorated hotel from floor to ceiling -- it reminds me of one of the extravagant houses on the Amsterdam canal with every... More

I was in Amsterdam for a conference and stayed to do some tourism. I stayed here because a friend had posted photos on Facebook and the rooms looked beautiful. I think he must have booked a canal view or superior room. My room was at the back of the hotel so there was no view. However, it was quiet and... More

Having booked this about three months ago and having been to other places in the mean time we had forgotten exactly what the hotel Estherea had to offer us. What a fab surprise when we walked into the lobby!! The hotel interior is simply stunning throughout. The staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was very nicely decorated, well equipped,... More

This is a quirky, comfortable and friendly hotel. Our room was lovely, huge comfortable bed and premium toiletries. The front desk staff were very helpful and happy to advise on and book restaurants for us (they don't do evening meals in the hotel). The breakfast buffet is excellent -everything from fruit to donuts! The hotel bar is compact but delightful.... More

Staying in Centrum

Neighborhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
