We arranged for my son and daughter-in-law to stay for 3 nights at this hotel as an anniversary gift last week. (My husband and I still have fond memories of our own stay at Hotel Estherea 10 years ago.) Their text said it all, "This hotel is 100 times nicer than the other hotels we've stayed during this trip. Thank... More

We couldn't ask for a better representation of Amsterdam hotels than Estherea. It is very quaint yet well kept and definitely Dutch. The canal view room was worthwhile and suprising quiet even on Saturday night when the street and canal were busy. The room size was adequate and we did not feel cramped. There was AC but it was not... More

We spent three days and nights in this delightful hotel. It was a wonderful experience. The room was excellent in every way. The staff was helpful and friendly. The location was perfect. It is within walking distance of many sites. A visit to remember.

The Estherea was wonderful in many ways: great central Amsterdam location on a canal, professional & friendly staff, comfortable room with excellent looks & furnishings plus a reasonable room rate, We stayed for 3 nights & incurred no problems or issues. Would recommend the Hotel Estherea to anyone visiting Amsterdam.

Fabulous hotel. It caters for everything and the location is perfect. The staff are superb and the room was fantastic. We hired bikes from the hotel for a very reasonable price, the cocktails (especially the mojito) at the bar were spot on. Free wifi, great breakfast, free coffee/tea/other refreshments 24/7. Would highly recommend.

Sadly only stayed one night in this excellent hotel. Very central to most things in Amsterdam, good restaurants and cafes only minutes away, set on the canals and easy taxi access. The staff is young and very friendly and helpful. The taxi they ordered, we paid the hotel rate, which turned out to be cheaper than metered rate was very... More

We stayed at the Hotel Estherea for two nights in July 2015. Everything about it was perfect. A friend had advised us to get a deluxe room, as the standard rooms are quite small. We followed that advice, and loved the hotel. We walked there from the Central Station. The reception area is lovely, and the bar, while small, is... More

The first impression of this place was incredible, the old style wood is lovely. This complemented with a very luxurious bar area. once we arrived in our room we were instantly surprised by how small our room was, this was made worse by the lack of storage space. the only two good aspects of the room was the view out... This is a gorgeous hotel. Each room is different and beautiful. The lobby and common areas are very beautifully decorated. It is almost like being a guest in someone's manor house. Staff are gracious and helpful. Each guest gets an ipad to use in the hotel while a guest. Excellent wifi. There is wonderful self-serve specialty coffees and teas and... More

We flew in on wonderful KLM from San Francisco yesterday! Had zero problems taking the train into town then a cab to the hotel. Total cost for 2 with tip= E20.20 as opposed to a cab from the airport that would have cost $50! Our hotel is just far enough from Dam Square to feel like we're in a sweet... More

Staying in Centrum

Neighborhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
