We booked a reservation back in May and then a week before we were to travel double checked our reservations, we saw that the rack rate was over 20 euros less than what we had paid for it.. though the hotel would not accept that rate, even though it was still one week before our travel time! We also paid... more

This is a lovely hotel on Singel, you couldn't wish for a better location in Amsterdam. We had room 302 on the other side, above Spui which is fairly noisy at night. I would recommend a room on the side of the Singel as you will get a canal view and it's much calmer. The room was a normal size... more

location, lobby, library and free teas/coffees all day were great. however the room we stayed in was very disapointing. clean but very grubby and worn. hadnt been refurbed since the 80's. the staff were also very mixed. one or two nice people but the rest were cold and unhelpful. apparently they've just added an extention 2months ago to hotel so... more

Once we arrived at Estherea, we knew we were in the right place. The lobby is grand and beautiful with lovely rooms to rest, read, or have a cup of complimentary tea. Our room on the fifth floor overlooking the canal was a very nice size as was the bathroom. The canal side is quiet, although you can hear church... more

We had a very pleasant one night stay at the Estherea. Our three person room was spacious and clean. We enjoyed the decor and the lobby seating areas. We also appreciated the complimentary tea, coffee, cookies, etc. more

The hotel is beautiful, like you step into some grand mansion situated on a quiet canal. The people behind the desk who checked us in were very nice and helpful. Our room was a great size, large living space and large bathroom, and had air conditioning. Our room overlooked the canal and was not noisy. They provided tea, coffee and... more

We love lobbies and public spaces and the rooms here were lovely places to sit and relax, read a guide book from the library, enjoy the complimentary coffee and cookies and feel the atmosphere of the city. The room was small but well furnished with a big bathroom, perfect for American tastes. Somewhat noisy on the back side because it... more

Just another love-note to the dear Estherea - I really can't imagine a nicer place to stay in Amsterdam. Now, if you're a fan of American chain hotels, or you're looking for a pool, or if you have a low tolerance for charm - you won't like this hotel. The rooms range from very small to cosy; the hallways are... more

We stayed for three nights at the Hotel Estherea in late June. The journey from the airport by train was very simple and we were able to walk (about 15-20 mins) from the station to the hotel. This was our first attempt at navigating by the canals and this definitely makes Amsterdam one of the easier cities to walk around.... more

We were originally booked at another hotel for our seven night stay in mid-May. But due to construction in the adjoining building, the hotel requested that we cancel as they were sure our stay with them would be less than perfect. They suggested the Estherea. An upgrade in price for us for sure, but we are so glad we splurged.... more
