Stayed here for 5 nights and enjoyed our stay. Staff both at reception and breakfast very pleasant and helpful, apart from change of waitress on our day of leaving we had to ask for our tea and coffee and our room number was not asked until we gave it either, unlike the waitress who had been on the rest of... We have just finished a week long stay at this hotel and are very happy the way things turned out. The taxi ride from the airport was about 35 euros. The location is superb, a block from the main museums and the grand open spaces of the museumplein. It is also situated a block from tram service. A block over... More

I had a wonderful few days at this hotel - it is only a stone throw from the two world famous Rijks & Van Gogh museums, brand name shops & the bus & tram stops. I loved the old building situated in a quiet street & it is in easy reach of a supermarket, in fact all the attractions are... More

The Bilderberg is a nice place and comfortable hotel, but part of a chain with partly motivated employees. Hotel rooms to the back probably calm but I was there on a saturday and heard lots of screaming and shouting party goers till 5 in the morning. The breakfast is in the cellar and was very disappointing. If you stay there... More

If you are interested in museums this little hotel is a great place to stay. It is within walking distance of all the great museums in Amsterdam. It is on a quiet street and the staff is quite helpful. It is interesting to see small brass plaques placed on the sidewalk in front of a few nearby houses, indicating the... More

Our room was on the ground floor, in a corner and was very roomy! We made our original booking through booking.com and decided to add on to the beginning our our stay--no problem. Once I contacted the hotel, arrangements were easily made. The room was well furnished with a king bed, desk, 2 arm chairs, table and night stands. The... More

We spent 3 nights at the Bilderberg, the room was very clean and the bathroom was nice and updated. The hotel staff were very helpful. The hotel is located in a very safe and upmarket part of Amsterdam away from all the hustle and bustle but easy access via tram. Safe to walk at night. It is located in the... More

The double room was spacious with a comfortable bed, large windows and modern bathroom. Front desk staff were very friendly and helpful, storing our suitcase on our check-out day and advising us on transport to the airport. The breakfast was excellent, with delicious bread and a wide variety of options including fresh fruit. Would certainly stay here again as location... More

Everything is great at this hotel - the staff, the room, the location. Nothing bad to say about this hotel, a real 4 stars. If i will return to Amsterdam, this hotel will be my first choice. One of the best hotels I ever stayed.

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighborhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
