We stayed for a couple of nights in December. The staff were very welcoming and spoke excellent English. We stayed on the top floor so we had excellent views. The room was in the eves so yes it was a little small but it was perfectly adequate. Breakfast was an excellent buffet style. 5 mins walk to the Rijksmuseum and... More

Stylish and spotless clean, comfortable rooms. Great location close to main galleries, shops and plentiful eating options. Very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast too expensive, so we ate that elsewhere.

This is a small hotel and I had one of the smallest hotel rooms ever. That said, it was efficient and quite suitable for my purposes. It is one block from the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, and that was my purpose for being there. The hotel is a bit chopped up and the room small but well laid... More

I found this botique hotel on TripAdvisor. It is a 4 star hotel, located down the street from the Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh and Stedlijk (sp?) museums. The location was fantastic. Down the block were the high end stores: Louis Vuitton, Prada, Gucci, etc. The rooms are cozy and clean. There is a bar that serves light snacks on the premises,... More

This hotel is of a good standard: The big plus points are the staff who go out of their way to help: Just 2 mins from Bus stop of bus 197 from airport and near the Museum District; Bikes for hire at hotel and 5 mins takes you to the large Yodel Park for a nice ride a good café.... More

In general this a very nice hotel well located near main attractions, accessible by all transport means, in quiet area; the rooms are clean and spacious, still there are room to improve the welcoming services, however is a lovely hotel and recommendable for families or business trips

My family appreciated the quality of this hotel in a very quiet area of the Museum District. Right behind the hotel as the upscale shopping street. The hotel staff were very helpful and the rooms and facilities were immaculate. The only issue for others to consider is that the stairs are very steep and narrow between the floors and to... More

This hotel is located next to all the main museums of Amsterdam and at walking distance from the center of Amsterdam (10 minutes to the Dam). The hotel is in a nice and quiet neighborhood while being centrally located. The room was recently redone, modern, clean and very well-equipped (Nespresso machine with cups). The staff was very nice.

This boutique hotel is a couple of blocks from the Van Gogh. It is in an ideal residential neighborhood, but one block away is a street of very high end stores. What a delight. The room was ideal, clean and had everything you need (especially a lift).

The hotel staff set the stage for a warm and welcoming visit to Amsterdam: impeccable, friendly and professional service--the staff went out of their way to help us with directions, snacks, post-card stamps, online tickets and Dutch pronunciation. You can't ask for a cleaner, quieter and well-located hotel--you can get anywhere from here. We avoided the lush bodegas close to... More

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighborhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
