Lovely old building in a good quiet location. Very close to all the museum's and some lovely places to eat around ( would recommend Small Talk, lovely food and service ). Easy to get a tram or taxi into the centre. The staff in the hotel were very friendly and couldn't do enough to help. Had very funny starts to... More

Great hotel in a very convenient location, tram line 2 or 5 will take you to the major sites in town, only 200m from the hotel. Staff at reception desk were very helpful and friendly. My only complaint was that the water pressure from the shower head was rather weak (I was on the 3rd floor). I asked around and... More

My family and I truly enjoyed our stay at this small, but unique hotel. The staff were very professional and friendly. Please consider that this is a typical small four star boutique European hotel and you shouldn't expect to have the usual commodities of a four star rated USA hotel. Rooms are small, but are comfortable and practical. There is... More

I stayed with my wife for 1 week. The front desk staff are in need of customer service training. They do not treat them well. I have stayed at other hotels on the same street and were treated like house guests. These people in the other hand look at you like a profit center. Horrible staff !!!!

We arrived at the hotel and the room was ready, which was great after a long flight. The front desk clerks were helpful and friendly. However, the front desk admittedly knew about the noise and construction and did not inform of this. Every morning we were jolted awake at 5am by the sound of pile drivers and metal being dropped... Execlent location. You take line 197 from the airport ( cost 5 €) and the bus stops 2 min walk from the hotel. It's easy to get around the city by foot or you can take line 2 or 5 to the city center. The hotel staff are very nice and very halpful.

Good location with only a few small hotels around. Everything within walking distance. Between CBD and Van Gogh but closer to Van Gogh. Nice tree-lines streets. Need to queue for breakfast or sit in lounge and wait for a free table. Need to check busy time and avoid this.

Location is perfect for visiting museums. Three of the top ones are one block away. The hotel is very comfortable and the personnel outstanding; helpful and personable. The hotel personnel gave us suggestions on what to do, what and where to eat and made reservations when possible.

Everything is within easy walking distance. Van Gogh Museum is two blocks away as is the Rijksmuseum. Large room overlooking a quiet street. The hotel is not modern but the amenities are quite adequate. This is a European hotel so don't expect a Hilton (or the price of a Hilton). The hotel is three adjoining houses that were converted; thus,... More

The Bilderberg Hotel was in a nice quiet and quaint part of the city with great high-end shopping just behind the hotel. The rooms were small, but clean and modern. The service was excellent. We will definitely be back!

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighborhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
