Those of you who use Trip Advisor to help you select hotels are unhappily familiar with these typical types of review: the "we didn't get treated exactly like we wanted, so this hotel is terrible" review, the "something extraordinarily horrible happened not ever experienced by any other guest, so this hotel is terrible" review, and on the other end of... We absolutely loved this place! The front desk clerks and concierge were very helpful with suggesting places to visit and restaurants. They upgraded us for free to the royal suite which is HUGE. We even ordered room service late at night and they searched everywhere to get us pizza and ice cream! Top people in a top boutique hotel. Beautiful... More

Euro-chic is the decor with its black and purple fabrics and gorgeous chandeliers. A great way to start your stay in Amsterdam; a city with design oozing from its window fronts. We had a smallish but delightful room with a very clean bathroom with a roomy tub. Air conditioner was in great working order and we appreciated the stream lined... More

I spent 8 nights at this hotel while attending meetings and conference at the RAI - it could have been a stressful time for me with the level of work I had going on but staying at the Toren helped minimise stress because it was so comfortable. From the moment I arrived, the staff could not have been anymore helpful.... More

THE UGLY BACKSTORY: I find myself Amsterdam this year for a research project at the Amsterdam School of Art. I have visited previously but have never traveled here solo. After having good experiences at hostels throughout Europe, and this being a very busy business trip with 12-hour days working at the University, I decided to save a little money and... More

The room is a little small by American standards, but big enough for two. The bed is really comfortable and the steam shower is great once you figure out how to work it. The room shares a courtyard with the hotel on one side and the owners' residence on the other with each having its own seating area. I suppose... More

We absolutely enjoyed our stay in The Toren. Their service is so warm and welcoming which is not common in the Amsterdam Hotels. About the decor one can have a discussion, but the beds were very comfy and the garden is a lovely place to have a coffee or a glass of wine. The location is perfect, and bikes can... More

After viewing the photos of this hotel on the Internet, we were very much looking forward to staying at this hotel. We were thrilled with the opulent decor in the main building's lobby and bar. However, things went quickly downhill once we were shown our room in the annex building several doors down. Room 422 is small, even by European... More

What a lovely find. We were in the annex building in a double room that had a lovely little patio that was shared by 2 rooms (we were the only ones who used it while we were there). The red and purple decor was like stepping back 100 years ago albeit with a hot tub, free wi-fi and flat screen... More

Just wanted to say thank you to all at the Toren. My wife and I found ourselves in Amsterdam a couple of months ago and couldn’t find a hotel. After ringing ten hotels including a most unhelpful Ibis who kept putting us on hold on an English mobile we found the Toren. I said to my wife, we’ll do a... More
