Loved this hotel! I visit Amsterdam regularly and this hotel is by far the best ive been too. The location is great, not too close to all the activity but far enough away from dam square etc. We stayed in the best room decoration was amazing. Our room was located in the annex building a little further down from the... More

We had the Garden Cottage, which was nice as it gave us a little extra privacy. The staff was amazing. We are Vegetarians and they went out of their way to research and find places we could eat at. And their recommendations were perfect. The Hotel location is excellent, walking distance to everything, yet in a nice quiet location.

This is the best hotel I've stayed in which is quite a compliment as I have visited 105 countries in nearly 50 years of travelling. The decoration and furnishings in a historic building on the Keizersgracht Canal are immaculate and the staff the friendliest and most helpful I have found anywhere on my travels. The location is also good with... More

We have just enjoyed a fantastic two - night stay at The Toren. The hotel beautifully and tastefully combines the old and new. The location is perfect on a quiet canal near the amazing Anne Frank Huis. The rooms are spotless and well appointed. The staff were all terrific. Friendly, welcoming and all very well trained. The large buffet breakfast... More

We tend to stay at small boutique properties and this one is one of the best. From a great location to amazing staff and delicious breakfasts, my wife and I can't think of anything negative to say. If we won the lottery, we'd just move in permanently. Some parts of Amsterdam can be a little noisy, but The Toren, even... More

Stayed here in April this year, gorgeous boutique hotel - sitated just near the Ann Frank house so an ideal location not far from anything. The staff were sooooo friendly and extremely helpful -expecially when it came to recommending restaurants there! The only thing i can fault is the rooms were a little small, looked a lot bigger on the... More

We chose the Toren for two nights based on the rave reviews. The hotel is lovely and staff are very professional. We were a group of four and stayed in one of the rooms in the annex. The furnishing were very nice and the bathroom had beautiful fixtures, but we felt it was quite cramped and somewhat overpriced given the... More

My wife and I recently stayed at the Toren hotel. We decided to get a canal view room and it was well worth it. From the beginning of our stay we found the stall to be kind and cordial. They are always willing to go the extra step to be sure you are comfortable and needs are met. Very helpful.... More

We stayed here for 5 days in march. Our room was one of the garden suits which was out of this world from the decor to b the amenities, double jacuzzi bath, double shower, extra large and extremely comfortable bed! The staff were always on hand, professional and helpful while being friendly and attentive! The breakfast choice is divine and... More

I had just 3 days here and wanted to see as much as possible without being in the middle of crowds all the time even though it was high season. The Toren is perfect in so many ways! A bit off the beaten track though it sits on a main canal. Literally right around the corner from the Anne Frank... More

Staying in Canal Ring (Grachtengordel)

Neighborhood Profile
Canal Ring (Grachtengordel)
This UNESCO World Heritage Site is as historically significant as it is perennially popular. Whether you’re a history buff, architecture enthusiast, shutterbug, or fashionista, odds are you’ll find the Amsterdam you're looking for while roaming around the Grachtengordel (Canal Ring). A brilliant place to get lost in a moody meander and a key component to any sightseeing trip to Amsterdam, this area's major draws include the Anne Frank House, the Bloemenmarkt floating flower market, an enviable assortment of independent boutiques along De Negen Straatjes, and of course all of Grachtengordel’s lovely canals and bridges.
