As a business traveler I truly appreciate a hotel like The Toren. Having stayed in everything from big hotel chains to trendy design hotels it's amazing how few hotels manage to deliver the kind of service which make life on a road that little bit easier. The Toren gets it right every time though; from the consistently welcoming service (it... more

I stumbled across the Toren years ago on Trip Advisor, and have been absolutely in love ever since. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, the staff are delightful, and the location can't be beat. It sits on a large, but quiet canal on the edge of the Jordaan.. and is literally stumbling distance to everything. 5 minutes to Dam square.... more

I booked my parents into my local hotel in Amsterdam which I use frequently for my business guests. They were both delighted with the welcome and level of service, which is especially important as my father has mobility difficulties. The staff at the Toren made them feel very comfortable and even arranged a wheelchair for my father. The Toren overlooks... more

We stayed two nights at the Toren in mid-June 2009. The entire hotel seems to have been designed to evoke a feeling of being in a hipper-than-thou lounge bar or nightclub. Right from walking into the little lobby, it is all dark velvet drapes, scarlet and purple wallpaper, black desks and chandeliers, and a general feeling of deliberately hip gloominess.... more

Overall, I LOVED this hotel! I stayed in the Annex, which is about half block from the main building. I had a double room for 2 days, then a single for the remainder of my stay. Overall, VERY impressed. The first single I was in was not the best location (right next to the elevator) and therefore noisy, but I... more

We were met on arrival by friendly, helpful staff, who showed us to a very luxurious room with loads of style and character as well as great facilities. We know Amsterdam very well, and have to say that the location is superb; quiet enough to be relaxing, close enough to the centre to be a pleasure to walk to any... more

My husband and I stayed at The Toren for 3 nights in early May. It was our first trip to Amsterdam and we couldn't have picked a better place to stay. Our room was small (very typical European size) by American standard but clean, cozy and elegantly decorated. The location was wonderful, away from the urban grittiness of being in... more

Arriving from North America at 6:00 AM can be disorientating. However, the Hotel Toren helped tremendously make our transition to Holland a pleasant one. We arrived at the hotel about 8:00 AM and they were more than gracious, offering us breakfast, restroom facilities, storage for our luggage, and travel hints for the day. When we returned in the afternoon to... more

The Toren Hotel is located on the canal a brief stroll to Anne Franks House and approx 5 min walk into the Dam Square. The hotel is housed in a charming old building which sits proudly on the canal avenue. Check-in – Fast, efficient and totally professional. Room – On arrival we were disappointed with the small size of the... more
