This was one of our favorite places we stayed during our Honeymoon Trek across Europe. We stayed two or more nights each place we went and next time we would plan for more time here. Katerine was very welcoming, the home was very comfortable and we felt as if we were a part of the family. The location was great... More

We stayed a total of 2 nights here, and although somewhat spartan, our room had comfortable beds and were warm. Our host was warm and friendly, and served breakfast when we required it. Lots to eat, I couldn't finish! You can walk to the centre of Amsterdam from here, or take a tram or a bus, which are close and... More

We were there during three days, 15-18 of June. Katerine is very polite and helpfull with her guests. It was our first time in a B&B and our trip could not be more perfect. Her house is very confortable and the room was very spacious. All in this B&B is amazing for a good quality/price, compare to other accomodation places... More

4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2011

Over the past 30 years of travel, my wife and I have always received the greatest value from B&Bs and we would strongly recommend the Orange-Amsterdam near central Amsterdam. In September this B&B provided an excellent base for my wife and I to explore Amsterdam. Host Katerine is very welcoming and knowledgeable with a facility for a number of languages... More

This B&B is located in a residential neighbourhood with parks, grachten, cafés, restaurants, supermarket - and even a windmill close by. A 10 minutes tram or bus ride takes you to the city center (main train station) or the mayor museums (Van Gog / Rijksmuseum). The landlady was very helpful with all requests we had concerning attractions, transport, bike hire... More

Staying in Plantage & the East

Neighborhood Profile
Plantage & the East
The eastern edge of central Amsterdam provides visitors with the chance to imagine the city that Rembrandt called home (and to tour his historic house) while shopping like the thriftiest of locals at Waterlooplein’s massive flea market, or even enjoying a craft beer beside the tallest wooden windmill in The Netherlands. This verdant, serene, and stately part of town is home to Artis Royal Zoo, one of Europe’s oldest (and still best kept) zoos, and Hortus Botanicus, one of the oldest botanical gardens in the world. It's also an ideal setting for the Dutch outpost of St Petersburg’s Hermitage.
