Stopped here a few years ago for the weekend. We intend to go here again in September this year for my wife's birthday. Clean and tidy, good room service and all of the attractions and sights are close and nearby.

Margot's B&B is situated on a very central canal, close to the Central Station and a main tram line. Even though it's on a major street, it's not very loud. The house has 4 floors: kitchen, Margot's private floor, and two guest rooms on separate floors. We stayed on the 3rd floor and had a beautiful view of the canal... More

We stayed for two nights and had a great time at Margot's house. Excelent location, excelent breakfast and very good advise from the owner. The view from the rooms is a really awesome!!!! The shared bathroom was always very clean and though the stairs are quite steep they were not a problem for us. It was as if we were... More

This is a B&B accomodation in great location, easy to walk to restaurants, cafes and shops. Room was tidy and comfybed although there is a shared bathroom.(There are only two bedrooms) Very steep spiral staircase up to bedrooms. Breakfast was a bit disappointing for me as more catered for cooked breakfast, However there was yoghurt.

This is an excellent idea for accommodation in central Amsterdam. The location is perfect being on the Singel canal, the innermost canal in the city. An appetising breakfast is included in the price, and Margot kindly arranged a complimentary pick up from the airport, most welcome after a long flight. It was a great experience staying in a local home,... More

My husband and I popped by Amsterdam for a quick weekend trip from London and stayed at Margot's B&B for 2 nights. The location is amazingly central (we could easily walk to the main train station to get to the Airport in less than 10 minutes, and the Rijksmuseum and Van Gogh museum were 15-20 minutes walk away), facing a... We are a family of four that stayed in Margot's Bed and Breakfast during the Winter holiday. The B&B is centrally located on one of the major canals- the Singel- and we were close to many places- including the train station from where we departed! The rooms were very comfortable as were the beds- and despite the cold outside- we... More

We occupied both rooms in the bnb. Short walk everywhere, tourist sites, terminal, mall, grocery, restaurants, etc.. Breakfast was hearty and service was excellent. Loved the clean smelling towels Margot provided. She also helped a physically challenged person like myself with our luggages. I had a refrigerator to store my medications in my room. Thank you for a memorable and... More

We stayed here with friends of ours in October. The location is ideal to tour Amsterdam any way you like. The rooms are large enough and the beds are wonderful. Margot was very helpful pointing out restaurants and such. The only drawback is the steep stairs. We are 49-56 yrs of age and had no problem. Could be an issue... More

We were delighted with Margot's home and our accommodation on the top floor with huge windows opening onto the canal. As a first-time visitor to the Netherlands, this was my dream location. The B&B is typical of homes in the area, very narrow with a unique spiral stair that requires some agility and light luggage; though the experience is worth... More

Staying in Centrum

Neighborhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
