Just returned from a long weekend at the JL 76 (29th Jan - 1st Feb). A truly fantastic hotel in an excellent location. Hotel is in a nice quiet street with close proximity to the Museums and easy access with the trams to head into Amsterdam centre. The ledesplein is literally a 5min walk with a huge variety of shopping... More

The JL No 76 (it does not mean "just lovely" was perfect for a nice place to rest while we experienced Amsterdam. The reception and people we met at the hotel were very friendly, helpful and ready to give directions/advice. The breakfast (we also had lunch one day) were very nice (limited menu). I loved the quiet residential neighborhood. The... More

This hotel has a great location on a quiet street in the upmarket shopping area just minutes away from many of the Amsterdam must-sees - the museums, the Vondelpark, tram stops, even the airport bus stop! The Leidseplein is a 10 minute stroll away. The reception and lobby are compact, stylish, and attractive, with an honesty bar, a cafe and... More

We stayed for 2 nights over a weekend and liked the location and individual interior a lot. Friendly reception, breakfast is ok, room large enough. The place provides great access to the heart of the city and rents out bikes which is a perfect way to discover the surroundings. The place is not cheap and expectations are accordingly also in... Stayed Friday 22nd January 2016 for two nights. Reception team were excellent on arrival and room was super. I upgraded for 35 euros but it really was a waste, a balcony in winter. It also had damp on one wall which was painted over. Breakfast on the first morning, good selection, attentive service but the coffee machine broke down, these... More

Perfect stay in a quiet area in Amsterdam. Our hotel impressed with the design and the rooms were large and comfortable and the bed with anatomic mattress, in our bathroom had a Jacuzzi tub and also shower. The staff was very friendly and pleasant. Everything was near to us.

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighborhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
