My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights in July 2015. The staff was very courteous, helpful and professional. Our room was quite nice, looking out onto their courtyard. The location was excellent - near the major art museums and a close tram ride into the center (also walkable). The breakfast was very nice and consistently great. We especially... More

Incredible value for money given the ambience and location near all the major Amsterdam art museums. You pretty much get everything you would at a the Conservatorium Hotel across the street plus much more personable service for a third of the price! Owner's art work in public spaces is fabulous. Interior design of rooms (wall colors, etc.) is very chic... More

This is a lovely boutique hotel. Very convenient to the museum district. Clean, and good breakfast. Staff is terrific. Worth booking. Only negative, don't get a room with a tub if you have any physical issues. You need a ladder! Other than that, this is a fine choice.

Quiet street close to museums, tram and bus. Walk to shops ,stores ,restaurants, cafes and bakeries.Perfect location. Clean quiet boutique hotel with an inviting lobby, friendly very helpful staff and a comfortable room. Serves full breakfast (make sure you understand that for one price you can have anything from the menu or the buffet). Limited lunch and dinner menu. Ask... More

This hotel is a bit of a hike to Amsterdam Centraal but you can take the tram not too far from the hotel. The room was clean and had cute decor and the air conditioning was refreshing. All hotel staff members were kind. The elevator is a little slow and the previous guest's leftovers were still in my fridge but... More

Nice, quiet hotel in a genteel neighborhood near all the major art museums. Friendly staff helped with restaurant reservations and bicycle rentals, and placed calls when my daughter lost her phone. Nice amenities in the room included a rainfall shower, robes and a Nespresso machine. Several tram lines close by, too!

As stated. Front desk personnel give inadequate or misleading directions. We signed up for a free breakfast, which they denied. Tried to charge us almost 80 euros. We were out most of the day, room was not made up. Friendly personnel.

This hotel has very clean, comfortable and spacious rooms (for Europe). The Nespresso machine and four complimentary capsules per day in the room was a really nice touch, and they still have some flavored water and tea in the lobby. It is located close to Van Gogh's and Rijksmuseum, and you can get the tram to Dam and the centraal... More

Great hotel with modern amenities. Away from the center of the city, in a more quiet setting. Loved the robes and TV in the bathroom. Small mini fridge and espresso machine in the room were great. I was pleasantly surprised when I saw there was a 110V built into one of their outlets. So convenient, no need to have to... More

This boutique hotel was just about perfect for our 1-night stay prior to getting on a cruise ship. Very easy walking to the Museumplein (for Rijksmuseum & Van Gogh Museum) with pretty gardens and spacious relaxation areas. The street in front is relatively narrow, not a commercial thoroughfare so it is very quiet at night. The hotel has gracious &... More

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighborhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
