Following an easy journey from the airport on the 197 bus (5 euros one, way, but have some small notes to pay as the driver turned a couple away with a 50 Euro note) we walked down the road to our hotel. We were greeted by a very friendly receptionist who was so helpful, showing us where the major areas were... More

We had a great stay at this hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Close enough to the museums. The bedroom was big, clean and we were able to rest well. The wifi connection was fine. We would love stay at this hotel the next time we are in Amsterdam.

If you are a museum buff, this is the place for you. Close to the Rijks, Van Gogh, and Stedelijk museums. Also close to the Concertgebouw for classical concerts. There is great transportation to other areas of Amsterdam. You can take bus 197 from the airport and get off at the Rijksmuseum stop, then walk down the street to the... More

This is the place to go if you're looking for a well-designed hotel that's comfortable, clean, and relaxing. Located on a quiet street just minutes from Amsterdam's three great museums, the JL No. 76 has a remarkably helpful staff eager to assist you in getting tickets, which is especially important for the Van Gogh Museum; with tickets purchased at the... My wife and I went for a weekend and were very pleased with the experience. Perfect location by the museums, quite street, very modern yet comfortable rooms and best of all the staff was exemplary. From helping book restaurants & giving suggestions to making drinks and always being helpful.....I travel a lot and this quality of service is very rare.

Hotel JL No76 is a small boutique type hotel in a fantastic area of Amsterdam, centrally located to all areas. The Van Gogh museum is literally a few steps away! The bed is super comfortable. The bathroom is a little small but we made it work. The staff makes this hotel even better as they are all so warm, kind... More

This hotel has a wonderful location. It's a three minute walk to the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum (get your tickets in advance or better yet, take a skip the line tour.) It's also a short walk to lots of restaurants, great shopping and very convenient public transportation. Back to the hotel, the room was beautifully decorated in a... More

Dear Leslie B, We are very glad to know that you enjoyed your stay and our location in the museum district. At the moment we are busy to replace the mirrors and the lightning in the room. On your next visit you will definately see the results and have more comfort concerning this matter. Your kind feedback is highly appreciated... More

I had reserved a standard room, but on arrival none were available, so received an upgrade. Was surprised to find that it was actually located in the basement, but that wasn’t an issue, even using the free Wi-Fi. Obviously the room layout was very designer orientated, and seemed very clean throughout. The bathroom included toilet, shower and Jacuzzi, with the... More

This is a lovely hotel with a great friendly & romantic feel. The amenities are modern and the staff is genuinely friendly and helpful. It is a short walking distance (2 min) from the major museums and it is a reasonable and scenic walk into the central area of town (20-25 mins). Our room had a Jacuzzi bathtub with a... More

Friendly sincere staff, the hotel is within walking distance from many places museums shops etc.. The room is spacious and the beds are of great comfort however two single mattress can be annoying as a couple. We stayed in a double executive room and got the whirl pool bath which was lovely and relaxing after a long day sight seeing,... More

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighborhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
