My wife and I spent 2 nights at Jackie O's B&B prior to a Baltic cruise in mid June. The property is located in a relatively quiet neighborhood close to the Anne Frank house. Our room was spacious, had all the requisite amenities and provided an excellent view of one of many canals in Amsterdam. The bed was very comfortable.... More

My husband and I -- seasoned travelers -- loved our stay at Jackie O's bed & breakfast. The studio apartment comes fully equipped (and I mean "fully" equipped -- with everything including napkins and paper towels, a welcoming bottle of wine, easy-to-use coffeemaker and coffee, as much cutlery and kitchen stuff as one could possibly need, and -- in the... This place is easy to find with Jackie's directions - the tram is closer. Lovely, QUIET part of residential Amsterdam with several restaurants close by. The room is 1 level up a spiral staircase but Jacqui helps you with your luggage. The room is large, light and airy, with a perfect cottage theme including potted daffodils and fresh tulips! We... Really enjoyed our stay at Jackie O's. Jackie was there to meet us and show us how things worked. She also left a folder with useful information on places to eat out etc which we found to be really helpful. Everything we required was provided, and we found the bed to be really comfortable. The bottle of wine left in... More

Just returned from 4 nights at Jackie's lovely studio apartment overlooking one of Amsterdams most beautiful and peaceful canals. Jackie has thought of everything to equip the studio and she is full of ideas and suggestions for places to visit. Her restaurant recommendations were spot on! The Jordaan area is a great choice - full of character and friendly locals.... More

This is a really nice room, in a great location, nice touches like a proper coffee machine. Jackie is really friendly and full of good local information. Great spot if you want to visit the Anne frank museum, it's just down the road, canal, and queues are always huge. And her dog is cute too!

My husband and I spent a few days here the beginning of April. We were welcomed by our charming hostess, Jackie, who was most accommodating. We had very little time in Amsterdam, but Jackie gave us recommendations for quick walks, sights and restaurants. It was sunny but cold and was wonderful to come back in the afternoons/evenings to this warm... More

For a stopover in Amsterdam this is perfect. The location is really good, allowing you to visit most of the main attractions. This B&B is situated in a beautiful canal road, just off the main streets. It offers you a real haven with the added bonus of a home from home feel. Parking is an issue but it is to... More

Just got back from 3 nights at Jackie O's which we thoroughly enjoyed. A lovely place to stay beside the nicest canal in Amsterdam. B & B is a misnomer - it's more like having your own place in the city. Jackie lives upstairs and she will make breakfast for you if you really want (at a price) but she... More

We loved staying at the B&B. Jackie is a great hostess with a lot of good reviews for resturants in the area. There is a beautiful canal view from the large window in the room. Plenty of space and very comfortable. It is so much nicer than a regular hotel room. The location is great, we walked to all the... More

Staying in Jordaan

Neighborhood Profile
Jordaan
One of Amsterdam’s most preferred outdoor markets and some of the city’s favorite watering holes are but two of the many reasons to save ample time for a stroll through this especially convivial warren of narrow streets with its unfair share of quirky shops and quality galleries. Historically a haven for the working class and emigrants, these days the Jordaan is better known as an enclave for artists and designers. As popular as the Jordaan is as a destination for locals and out-of-towners alike, the area never feels particularly touristy or overrun with outsiders. A highlight even for long-time Jordaan residents, be sure to accept any invitation to step within one of the area’s beloved courtyards or to have a sneak peek inside one of its many working studios.
