I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The owner is very welcoming and informative. Unfortunately, had their great breakfast only once during this stay but intend to gather around the table more on my next visit. Thanks for the great eggs Onno! I stayed in room 23, the equipment and furnishings are inspiring. The room is very clean and... more

This hotel is a decadent treat. The rooms are seriously sexy complete with all the bondage gear you could wish for. All in the comforts of home (and more)! It's also a very friendly welcoming environment for people of all orientations, Our room was large enough to swing a cat, pun intended. Breakfast was great and we enjoyed the company... more

What to say after the others opinion. Very nice place, the owner is very friendly and charming. He has taken time to explain us the good places we wanted to visit or restaurants. The breakfast is wonderful, lots of bread, jam and fresh orange juice is very nice. Eggs cooked like you want with bacon, miam miam (yum yum). The... more

One thing is for sure, the Black Tulip will not fade in your memory as just another small hotel that you stayed in. The Black Tulip has a gay S&M theme, but anyone with an open mind will feel welcomed and comfortable there. We were amazed at how many of our friends knew of the Black Tulip and were envious... more

We loved our stay at the Black Tulip. The location was terrific--near the train station and all the public transportation as well as walking distance from so much of the City. Our room was also great--very comfortable and it felt personal-not like a typical hotel. Most of all we liked the historic feel of the building, its human scale and... more

I have repeatedly returned the Black Tulip. The rooms are delightful, you have everything you need and the morning breakfast is perfect. You meet great folks from around the world at the morning table. Many of those folks are still my friends. The management is top notch, helpful, friendly and caring about making your stay a special one. Also the... more

I have been wanting to stay here after seeing the hotel on line. I was luck to get a "last minute deal" the Euro/$ is very bad for Americans at the moment. The hotel truly out did my exceptations. Tasteful, will appointed great video selection and nice breakfast. The real plus was the friendly people. I am looking forward to... more

I cannot recommend this hotel highly enough. My room was very comfortable. Jurrie and Onno were great hosts during my stay. The hotel has an excellent location - very close to the leather bars and to Central Station. more

I traveled to Amsterdam with my girlfriend and another couple. I DID THE BOOKINGS!!! :):):):) The owners are great! They serve a lovely breakfast in a lovely-shared atmosphere. It is a very requested hotel, so you have to book in advance. The rooms are equipped in an S&M way, but unfortunately we didn’t take advantage of that (to much Amsterdam... more

Once again, before booking a room in the business destination, I had a look at Tripadvisor. That time Black Tulip was 3rd on the list. After many years using only big business hotels I decided already last year to look for something else. And Black Tulip is not a business hotel, but a business traveller can survive there cleanly. The... more
