We had a pretty nice time. The room was very small, but more on the cozy side, not claustrophobic. Breakfast is served in a kind of a big kitchen-lunch-room, where you sit to the table with other guests of the hotel. The guys running the place, which also make the breakfast every morning, were very nice and made sure we... More

This is the second time I have stayed here, albeit the last was 10 years ago. Again the staff was warm, welcoming and attentive. When my flights were cancelled Dikky went out of his way to help me come up with some alternatives. Everyone was always ready to make suggestions or point me in the correct direction.

A truly great Hotel in the centre of this great city. Run 2 men who know what they are doing, a very well run, clean friendly hotel, dam successful , sometimes difficult to get into . all the usual mod cons, the owner is a nice guy, nothing to much trouble, all advice given to enjoy the city, wifi and... This review can't discuss the accommodations themselves because, after the difficult experience noted below, I didn't wind up staying there. But I was certainly charged about $195 by the Amistad for the privilege of (thankfully) staying somewhere else. I made a reservation about 1.5 months before my planned arrival dates. Within two weeks of making the reservation, I realized that... More

I've been before, but this time really stands out. As a great base in central Amsterdam, I think it would be hard to better this boutique hotel. The room was great, warm, well appointed and on arrival we were greeted with a really friendly face (Joost) and a bottle of wine! Breakfasts were brilliant, a bit like being in a... More

We have stayed here twice. Once in February 2007 and May 2014. Excellent location, great service, wonderful breakfast, friendly staff. It's a small boutique hotel but we enjoyed our stay both times. The staff assisted us getting our pass that I had purchased online but never received a bar code. He called and got it arranged for us to pick... More

Firstly, the location is quite good. Then I may have had bad luck. I booked quite late, only like a fortnight in advance. So the hotel was fully booked but I got a room in the Bed and Breakfast in the same street (same owners). The first thing when I arrived and wanted to pick up the key to the... More

This UNESCO World Heritage Site is as historically significant as it is perennially popular. Whether you’re a history buff, architecture enthusiast, shutterbug, or fashionista, odds are you’ll find the Amsterdam you're looking for while roaming around the Grachtengordel (Canal Ring). A brilliant place to get lost in a moody meander and a key component to any sightseeing trip to Amsterdam, this area's major draws include the Anne Frank House, the Bloemenmarkt floating flower market, an enviable assortment of independent boutiques along De Negen Straatjes, and of course all of Grachtengordel’s lovely canals and bridges.
