This hotel has gained in popularity since TFIOS made it famous, but it hasn't changed. The staff are still charming, friendly and will happily go out of their way to help you with anything from an iron, to a dinner reservation, to tour and museum tickets, even bicycle hire! Close to Vondelpark and with great transport links round the city,... More

Reception staff were very friendly and helpful, our room was the Star Room in which John Green (author of The Fault in Our Stars) stayed when he was in Amsterdam. Very comfortable beds, absolutely stunning view out of our window. Really longed for a kettle in our room, that would have made it a 5 out of 5 rating for... More

We were looking for a place that was quite and not too expensive. This hotel is located outside of central (about a 30 minute walk to Dam Square). The rooms each have a philosopher theme. We were in the Zen room which was small but met our needs. The only disadvantage is it did not have air conditioning and Europe... More

I stayed at this hotel for 5 nights with my boyfriend. When we arrived they sent us to a room which had someone else's belongings in, but we let them know and they sorted a room out for us an hour later. The room was standard, the bed was comfy and it was nice and clean. It was a great... More

We stayed at this hotel because my daughter had seen "The Fault in Our Stars" and this hotel features in it. The staff are very pleasant and helpful and the location is quiet and in a really nice part of Amsterdam. The room we stayed in was tidy and quiet but nothing special. It was clean but a little tired... More

Myself and 5 other students were on an educational visit to Amsterdam and decided to stay in this hotel. We arrived early at the hotel and were able to drop off our bags before exploring the city. The staff were very welcoming greeting us each time we arrived back at the hotel. Our rooms were cleaned and our rubbish was... More

Positives: great location, accessible through transportation (tram 1 & 5 from the central station), great and very welcoming staff, quite location, there are main streets not too far away, a beautiful park around the corner, elvator, not too far from the Van Gogh museum Negatives: I requested a queen size bed multiple times but had two twins (not a major... There is nothing to recommend this hotel. Grimy, dank, dirty, dusty rooms. No amenities. No hairdryer, no wifi, no soap, minute bathroom, revolting, sticky and stained carpet. Exceptionally rude manager. NO WAY GO THERE!

What an absolute dump! We were shown to a cupboard with no light and grungy decor. shown the only two alternatives and because we had no time to change hotels took the best of a very bad lot - dark, dirty, dusty, minute bathroom, no wifi, decades old paint work, and filthy stained carpet. We'd booked for two nights, prepaid,... More

We spend 2 nights in this hotel (in the main building) and our stay was very good. The hotel very well located, 2 steps from the vondelpark and the garden is quiet and restful. Perfect to visit the city with bikes. The staff is very friendly and helpful as well! The room was not the newest one but we didn't... More
