When was the last time you had a cozy fire place in your hotel room? Here is a warning: when you check-in to the Rembrandt Suite (as we did) you might miss most of the Amsterdam Night Life - because you probably want to stay in your comfortable hotel room all evening long. Enjoying a glass of wine infront of... More

Great place to stay, the suite with the terrace was lovely. Very peaceful on the terrace and quiet at night, room was great, comfy. Very nice bathroom! Staff will try there best to make you welcome and help you with any needs! Would stay here again as the location was brilliant as well.

Our family of 4 stayed in the Vermeer suite. It was spotlessly clean and very comfortable ( single bed and sofa bed for the kids in the sitting room). TV (bbc channels too!) , DVD player and good wifi. Its located in what must be the most expensive area of Amsterdam, literally around the corner from Gucci, Prada etc and... More

We stayed here, for a week recently. As they were pretty full, we ended up in three different suites. Other reviews describe the hotel very accurately. Hotel is not quite the description perhaps-this is a lovely old house converted into four hotel rooms ( one is a suite) with daytime housekeeping and onsite conceierge/receptionist. All are different and have their... More

The location of this hotel (or bed and breakfast) was perfect for us. It was in a quiet, residential neighborhood, but a couple of blocks from the tram stop, so easily accessible to all the museums and downtown, and walking distance to restaurants. We especially recommend the restaurant Classico, a short walk from the hotel, for its great food and... More

I stayed only one night in their Mondrian Suite but wished that I could have spent a few more days at this most lovely Museum Suites. The room was impeccable and spacious - and I loved the Mondrian theme, so minimal and clean feeling. The large bathroom was spotless and the bed provided a very comfortable sleep. The neighbourhood is... More

In a great area... can walk anywhere; close to all museums. And the tram stops one block away! Nice restaurants, shops, and more are all within walking distance, plus you can walk or take the tram to the bus terminal.

The rooms are named after artists, and decked out accordingly. They are large and well equiped. The ideal place to e spore Amsterdam from. While rooms can be upstairs, the staff assist completely with luggage as required. After a delightful stay, they organise budget transport to the airport . A must stay place when we return to am sterdam

The whole experience was a joy from start to finish! Frida and her team were incredibly welcoming and hospitable. The location suited us perfectly and the Van Gogh suite with adjoining patio was stunning and spotlessly clean. Our breakfast experience was exceptional too. We loved every minute of our stay here and we will most certainly be recommending this hotel... More

My friend and I stayed for only three days in the Vermeer suite and wished we could have stayed longer. Booking directly with them gives the best rates. The location is perfect for Bus 197 to./from Schipol and just a short walk away. The hotel architecture is just beautifully restored for the blend of old and new. We called the third... More

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighborhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
