First of all, Annette was a great host - proactive, welcoming, warm and humorous. She made sure that everything we needed was available, including things we didn't know we needed (breakfast in the fridge, picnic table out front, drawing materials for our daughter... in short; Anette was a perfect host. The houseboat itself is really lovely and perfect for at... More

My girlfriend & I were visiting Amsterdam between 25- 29 May this year, the main purpose of which was to see a couple of bands. We decided to make a week of it, and having stayed in a house boat on a previous visit, decided to book this place as we really loved the experience last time around. We were... More

My boyfriend and I stayed here with my two children (aged 13 and 18) for two nights, and can't rate it highly enough. Although it is fairly small, there was plenty of room for us all to sleep (the children stayed on the pullout sofa beds). It is within walking distance of all local amenities, and a short train journey... More

We want to thank the host Annette from the bottom of our heart for the wonderful stay and her service. The house boat is amazing it was always my dream to stay overnight on such a boat. The equipment is clean, taken care off and the breakfast facilities perfect. It is a nice experience to wake up with ducks swimming... More

What more can be said that has not already been said. Annette is one of the most warmest souls i have ever meet. She made the wife and i very comfortable and just made us feel like we were old friends. The boat is great, and has every thing you need. Loved how quiet the neighborhood was and just how fun... Amazing location in a super quiet neighborhood. The owner is cool. There are large windows witch allow childrens to play with the ducks that are ont the canal. We found a parking space (without pay and without fine). Bike hire and bus station are 5 min.

My husband and I stayed here for three days in November before we boarded for a cruise on the Danube River. I had wanted to experience living on a houseboat. The location is in the Jordan area and was walking distance to much that we wanted to see. It was a very unique experience to watch the swans swim past... More

Having just spent the weekend aboard Annette's houseboat, I cannot recommend it enough! Annette is a lovely host who has thought of everything. The Fridge even comes stocked for Breakfast. :) The houseboat is located in a lovely, quite part of Jordan, but is close enough to central Amsterdam. There are great restaurants and bars just around the corner. I... More

We stayed 4 nights on Annette's houseboat in October. The location is great, central (A 15 MN walk from the station) but also very quiet. Shops, restaurants and bars of the Joordan area are reached in less than 5 mn. The tram (3) is just a few minutes away. The studio is clean, nice and well equipped, It was great... More

Staying in Jordaan

Neighborhood Profile
Jordaan
One of Amsterdam’s most preferred outdoor markets and some of the city’s favorite watering holes are but two of the many reasons to save ample time for a stroll through this especially convivial warren of narrow streets with its unfair share of quirky shops and quality galleries. Historically a haven for the working class and emigrants, these days the Jordaan is better known as an enclave for artists and designers. As popular as the Jordaan is as a destination for locals and out-of-towners alike, the area never feels particularly touristy or overrun with outsiders. A highlight even for long-time Jordaan residents, be sure to accept any invitation to step within one of the area’s beloved courtyards or to have a sneak peek inside one of its many working studios.
