Canal House is set in a peaceful location and yet only a short walk away from Amsterdam's main attractions. All the staff were friendly and attentive which gave our stay a real 5-star feel. The breakfast selection was excellent, including toast, cereals, ham and cheese plus one of the best croissants I have ever eaten!

we relaxed from the moment we walked in the door of this hotel. The decor was dark but we loved the way it was done. Our room was cozy but luxuriant and the bed was very comfortable. The garden was a great place to enjoy a mojito especially as we had wonderful weather. Breakfast room was lovely and we thought... More

This hotel is located in a lovely part of the city, with lots of attractions in walking distance. The breakfast was of a very good standard, with plenty of options. The room we had overlooked the garden and was a good size with everything you would need.

Canal House is a fantastic hotel very typical of Amsterdam, what made is great for us was the service, on arriving the staff went out their way to make us feel most welcome, explaining everything we needed to know about the room and the wider area, this service just continued though-out the whole stay. the room was looked after in... As seasoned visitors to Amsterdam we chose Canal House for its subtle distance from Damrak and the other parts we have done, we like walking so don't have a problem not being in the thick of it. From the moment you enter Canal House a feeling of tranquility takes over, the rooms are almost all dark but this creates a... More

Submitted again as I put it onto the wrong hotel initially..... ;-( My wife and I stayed for 4 nights at the Canal House and it confirms why we love Boutique hotels. This was 3 converted Town houses in a quiet backwater but close to the central areas of Amsterdam this wonderful Hotel has just 23 rooms. Staff are very... More

Rich dark purple and black and good art all help to give a great ambience to the room Huge and comfy bed. one point the price... More

Stayed for 2 nights. Hotel is amazing! Stayed in room 17 a 'great room' and couldn't fault it. Loved the view over the garden, loved the bath in the room, bed was so big and comfortable. Staff were lovely and helpful, couldn't do enough. We hired bikes from the hotel which was so handy. Location is perfect walk from the... More

To start I just wanted to say that this is a really nice hotel. Location is amazing; the staff were excellent and the rear garden was a little gem. However the price of a room (we paid €425 per night for a Great Room) was not worth it. For a 'great' room it was tiny. The bathroom was very good,... More

The Canal House was a great place. We were there for two nights (4 people split up in two rooms) and it was fantastic. We were four 25-year-old men and we were definitely the louder/younger people there. Overall quiet, with great food and great drinks at the bar. The free breakfast was perfect. The location was great, with easy walking... More
