As a newly married couple we decided on a short break to Amsterdam after our wedding. We arrived at the canal house and were greeted by a very friendly member of staff. We were offered a room upgrade for a very small charge an were then lead to the best room at the hotel. It was stunning! For the three... More

Wonderful hotel built in an old canal house but entirely refurbished with design wooden furniture. Full of charm and conveniently located a stone's throw from the "negen straatjes" (the nine little streets known for their charming shops) and Anne Frank's house. The quality of the amenities and the service are impeccable, and all add to a very pleasant experience whether... More

Stayed in this hotel for 3 days in the beginning of January. Very stylish hotel with friendly staff, comfortable rooms, tasty breakfasts, convenient location. No one negative thing to say. More

We stayed in the Best room which was basically a canal view suite on the top floor. First the downsides: = The room is laid out quite strangely - very long. = The drain in the shower was clogged, which for some reason I didn't complain about till our stay was half over. The room would fill with water every... More

Perhaps a rather broad and fastidious quest it were for a dwelling of three mere nights, but I wanted to veer away from the days of old - desiring something novel, something new. Still beset by ironies from the past, cheap hostels and cramped quarters have made their mark on my soul no doubt and are certainly absent of regret,... More

A wonderful looking hotel in an excellent area. Much time and money has been spent making this a great looking hotel. I and 4 other friends decided to eat dinner there last week. As we arrived two Italian diners were complaining of the food but we remained to see for ourselves. We ordered our drinks and two courses. The starter... More

Great location, friendly staff, beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Even the breakfast was wonderful. This was my 4th time in Amsterdam and I would definitely stay in the Canal House again. More

I came away with mixed feelings ... We booked 2 rooms with canal views but ended up with NO view at all other than the walls of a light shaft about 1 meter away from the window. The windows only opened out about 10 cm which made the rooms very claustrophobic and the airco didn't work. The receptionist's rather displaced sense... More

We stayed for a week at the Canal House in November. We had a "great" room overlooking the garden on the third floor (#17-we asked for a canal view but were told it was unavailable) and my daughter had a "good" room also overlooking the back garden on the second floor (#10). They were both nice -- room 10 had... More

Loved it completely. Found the staff very nice and we loved the building and feeling of the hotel - not too hotely. I´ve stayed in their other hotel in Paris which is a dream, L´Hotel in St Germain. It was great to see they have kept the character of the building and original features mixed with a very modern trendy... More
