I loved this hotel for it's cozy ambiance ... it is a collection of canal houses all joined together , some by glassed in walkways that look into pretty , landscaped courtyards ... it is a bit of a maze to work your way through the hotel as a result but that's part of it's character & charm . Very nice, very comfortable, great staff, great location. Our room was a little quirky (elevator up, then a flight or two up), but very nice. Bathroom nice (although a tad small). Doesn't feel like a 5-star hotel, but I mean that as a compliment. Very nice service, accommodations, etc, but relaxed and not fussy or uptight.

Four adults stayed here for three nights prior to doing our Avalon River Cruise of Northern Holland. Two of the people loved the first room they were assigned overlooking the gardens. The other two were given what felt to be an attic room which, while charming, was much smaller and musty. The front desk was immediately responsive and gave us... More

With its central location, the Pulitzer is a great choice for Amsterdam. Because the hotel is composed of twenty plus different buildings, linked together while having minimal changes to historical structures, getting to a room can seem like a maze. For our room, after leaving the elevator we had to go up two short flights of stairs and then down... More

Just as good as our last visit (and review) a year ago. This hotel has all the benefits of a Sheraton, Starwood hotel but it's got a definite boutique hotel style. Many key staff have been there a long time so it's got a bit of a personal, family atmosphere as well. Perfect location on prettiest canal near quirky shops,... More

This hotel is a combination of several merchant's houses. The building has a ton of character which is something I loved about it. It is on the canal and is very close to the center of town (Dam Square). Couldn't have been a better location. Our room was relatively small but was very quiet. Concierge was fabulous. The only negative... More

We were only in Amsterdam as a segue to catch a River Boat cruise and I wished we had been able to stay longer. Our room at the Pulitzer was adorable. Small but cozy. The bed was brilliant. Our particular room had been a part of an old Merchant's home so the beams in the ceiling added character. They have... More

Had a wonderful weekend in this hotel. Excellent location, and the room was amazing, I had a great canal view room which was a studio with the bed upstairs. Loved the way it felt like part of the local houses. Breakfast food was very good. Although the service in the breakfast buffet was extremely slow, I gave up waiting for... More

We stayed 6 nights at the Pulitzer and can really praise the service of all the staff with whom we had contact. Unfortunately our room was very small and the first five star hotel I have ever stayed in without a closet. There was a cabinet with the safe and three drawers in it and about 6 inches on either... I have now stayed here twice and this hotel has excellent customer service and incredible charm. The rooms are unique due to the nature of the hotel each with a different history. The Concerige and bellhops were exceptional at helping us find places to eat and any other arrangements we need. The lounge is comfortable and inviting and we had... More
