Some highlights from my stay: * Located in a quiet, accessible area in Amsterdam. * Comfortable beds. * Lovely customer service. They went above and beyond to accommodate my non-standard request. * Great in-room amenities. My only complaint, and the loss of a star: poor, energy-efficient lighting makes it very difficult to get ready in the morning.

I unknowingly showed up on the day the Pride party. Not being into the crowds and noise they out in a room away from the noise and such. Service in all areas was stellar. Both competent and pleasantly social. Great care was taken in the details as well, glasses, cutlery and table dress were spotless and organized, the staff were... More

This is a very unique hotel situated in 25 canal houses in the Amsterdam Canal District. Our group had three rooms and each one was different but what made our one night stay so great was the staff. They were always available to answer questions, handout water and help. We were able to check into our rooms early with no... More

A lovely small hotel with nice dining spaces, good food, clean rooms. All of the staff was so very lovely and very helpful. And, the location is terrific -- very walkable area, near the Ann Frank House, canal cruise starts, 9 Streets, good eating, etc.

We stayed here in May 2016. The hotel was created by joining together several old houses in the old part of Amsterdam. The location is very good. The staff is friendly and professional. The rooms are on the small side, which is to be expected in such an old building. Nevertheless, we slept soundly. We ate in the lobby bar... More

The hotel is lovely and the concierges are great. The receptionist had a bit of attitude and our room must have been one of the worst because it overlooked a courtyard through which staff passed however it was still comfortable and well served. Breakfast was overpriced when paying such rates for the room. We preferred going elsewhere for breakfast. The... More

Wonderful staff, great location, close to many popular attractions! Stayed for 3 nights prior to our British Isles Cruise. Great breakfast included in our room rate! All of the staff were very helpful and professional and they even remembered that it was my husband's birthday and brought a lovely cake to the room! Room was cozy and well-appointed. We were... We had a wonderful time staying here. Neat and comfortable room - spotless - with a view of the canal. Located in the Jordaan - it felt central to good restaurants and everything we wanted to see was a short bicycle ride away. Excellent service - friendly and discreet. The hotel courtyards are a quiet oasis. There is a great... More

The Pulitzer is a modern hotel tucked inside a group of beautiful old canal houses on the Prinsengracht (canal). Don't be put off by the renovation of another part of the hotel. I heard not a sound of construction nor was there any disruption. The staff were friendly and helpful, especially the concierge staff. There is a lovely quiet garden... More

Stayed for 4 nights; great location and just down the street from Anne Frank house.Concierge was very helpful. We had a great room on the 2nd floor, with French doors, overlooking Keizergracht canal.; Very picturesque. Took canal boat ride and walking tour through the hotel...excellent. The Keizergracht 238 Restaurant, on premises, was excellent.

Staying in Canal Ring (Grachtengordel)

Neighborhood Profile
Canal Ring (Grachtengordel)
This UNESCO World Heritage Site is as historically significant as it is perennially popular. Whether you’re a history buff, architecture enthusiast, shutterbug, or fashionista, odds are you’ll find the Amsterdam you're looking for while roaming around the Grachtengordel (Canal Ring). A brilliant place to get lost in a moody meander and a key component to any sightseeing trip to Amsterdam, this area's major draws include the Anne Frank House, the Bloemenmarkt floating flower market, an enviable assortment of independent boutiques along De Negen Straatjes, and of course all of Grachtengordel’s lovely canals and bridges.
