The Posthoorn is an amazing choice for your stay in Amsterdam. We are big travelers and this one rated very high in comparison for many reasons: Its location is amazing, 10 minutes walk from the train station, right on a canal, in the middle of a very trendy area with many options for drinks, cafes, restaurant and shopping, and finally... We have just spent one week at the Posthoorn and it was a wonderful experience. The room was perfect, the bed extremely comfortable and best of all the breakfast was scrumptious and plentiful.Francois is a wonderful host, generous with his time and very helpful.Would thoroughly recommend staying here if you want a fantastic time in Amsterdam.

We stayed at The Posthoorn in early March (we're a bit late with this review) for a long weekend. It's a wonderful place to stay, as other reviewers have already said, because of its character and amenities, because of the location, and because Francois, the owner, is an extremely friendly and attentive host. We stayed in the canal view room,... More

We had a 4 country tour of Europe ending in Amsterdam. We stayed in 2 AirBNB's 1 hotel and the Posthoorn. The Posthoorn was our favorite. Only 3 bedrooms, so book in advance. The room we booked known as "patio" is easily 4 star, and the most comfortable bed we slept in during our 2 weeks. Located in the Jordaan... More

This fine bed and breakfast has only three rooms. When our Amsterdam apartment rental fell through we were lucky to get a booking for five nights. Our room was billed as ground floor, although we had to walk up about four steps. We faced Prinsengracht and a canal; special shades prevented people from looking into our room. The room was... Francois, our host, was a delight. His welcome and orientation chat complete with map was wonderful. Lovely room with an enormous bed with great quality linen, swish bathroom with heated floor. Our room was at the back with a little outside verandah, complete with table and chairs - access to it was via a window - delightful. Very pleasant for... More

The Posthoorn is a tiny 3 bedroomed hotel, more of a bed and breakfast really. We stayed in the Patio room which is at the back. It was decorated to a very high standard, with a huge comfortable bed and very lovely linens. The hotel itself is in a great position right on the beautiful canals, very quite but very... More

We had to change so many plans and dates but Francois was accommodating and we were very thankful. We were apprehensive about finding the hotel from train station at first but Francois gave good directions and we managed to track down the place. It is not your kind of commercial hotel you would expect. It is more like a B&B... More

I stayed here for 3 nights, it's in a great part of the city alongside the canal and one the same street as Anne Frank's house. The room is a good size with fridge, hot plate, microwave and kettle. Just up the road are some supermarkets and there are plenty of good restaurants and places to eat on the go... More

My wife and I have just enjoyed a four night stay at The Posthoorn. From the moment we contacted Francois, inquiring of availability etc he could not have been more helpful. He gave us very useful instructions regarding how to find his property, a 15 minute walk from the Central Station, to the beautiful area of The Jordaan. The Posthoorn... More
