The owner, Francois,is a wonderful host. He is full of history, directions and recommendations for everything from canal cruises, museums and dining. The room was very clean and comfortable. The location is perfect. Easy walking to everywhere, including public transportation. The neighborhood felt safe and friendly.

Just got back from a whirlwind tour of the Netherlands that included a three-night stay at the Posthoorn in Amsterdam. It turned out to be the perfect place to kick-off my vacation! 1. Location. The Posthoorn is within a 5- to 15-minute walk of pretty much everything on your must-see list, from the Anne Frank House (just a few blocks... More

I also tip my hat to Francois and The Posthoorn. It was an easy 15- or 20-minute walk with our luggage from the Central Station, and we quickly grew to love the neighborhood. Although we were dazed from travel, Francois was the perfect greeter to Amsterdam. He took time to provide us with a map, recommendations for places to dine,... More

We stayed in the Hidden Church room. It was very comfortable and easily accessible from the street. When we arrived Francois, our host, took great care in telling us about the house, interesting things to do and where to eat. I had also found one of pieces of luggage missing at Schipol and he very kindly kept in touch for... More

More

I always dreamed to stay in a nice place facing the canal in Amsterdam! So ,from this point the room was just perfect, from our window we saw not only the canal and the boat houses but also the Norther Church just in front! From the moment we took the decision to stay there,Francois gave us very precise advises where to... More

Just returned from a four night break at the lovely Posthoorn. From my first email enquiry we received very prompt precise answers to all our questions, from the moment we arrived to the time we left we were given the full of attention of Francois. Nothing was too much trouble and he was the prefect host. The room (Canal View... More
