I'd extended a business trip for a few days because I'd never been to Amsterdam before, so wanted to see the city. Looked at the price of the hotels and couldn't believe it. "Sleep At Amy's" gets listed on a number of travel websites, seemed to have good reviews and was altogether a more reasonable price for the 2 nights... More

Good value for Amsterdam. About 10 min walk from central train station. Gordon was very helpful, especially getting our luggage up the narrow staircase. Room is large, not fancy. Bed ok. View nada. Breakfast is cold ceral, bananas, yogurt, danish/rolls, jam, and butter.

Never been made to feel so at home, The hosts showed me all the best spots in town, the room were so clean! It was like having your own place in the Dam! Perfectly located with everthing you need at your doorstep. Highly reccommended to anyone passing through Amsterdam.

Staying in Centrum

Neighborhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
