I was worried after reading the reviews but I really had nothing to be worried about. The room was fine! I paid very little anyway so wasn't expecting much. The room was in the basement, it had no windows which I was prepared for as this was on my booking. The room didn't feel cramped and I didn't find this... More

The location is great . Central and close to red district. But I wouldn't qualify this hotel 3 stars. To me it's more a 2 stars . Small rooms . Old furniture. Stains on the walls. Computer and elevator were out of order.

This hotel was in a great location, close to the train station near the red light district and a short walk to the zoo. We only used the hotel for sleeping in so can't say much about their facilities other than the room was over looking a canal and the Basiliek van de H. Nicolaas. Bearing in mind it is... More

The thing I really liked was the that the hotel it's in the center so you can go everywhere without using any taxi. The stuff in the reception was friendly. The one thing I didn't like was the smell of the toilet in my room.

Centrally located, right near Amsterdam central station. Room was clean and definitely better than expected. Hotel is a bit dated but WiFi is included. You get what you pay for. Next door to Molly Malone's and near all attractions

The rooms are small and dirty with no windows. The stinky smell is everywhere. Noisy and very uncomfortable. This hotel looks like a hostel rather than a 3⭐️⭐️⭐️ hotel. The price is reasonable, however, I'd never recommend this hotel to anyone.

So upon getting to Amsterdam , I made my way to the hotel for check in. I was disgusted when greeted with an older lady ( receptionist ) who made me wait 20 mins before talking to me as she was on the phone. There is a lot of work needed with this hotel as it had cables on the... More

Locations, location and location. Central Amsterdam, near the station, next to numerous restaurants, nearby stores, tourist sites nearby. Hotel very modest, in fact, is not meant to stay in but to sleep the night Rooms small, very small, shower worked, there are bed linen, cleanliness conditional, conditional security. Overall, budget-friendly hotel with a great location.

Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighborhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.
