Booked online in February but when we arrived they claimed that there was no booking from the agent so we had to pay again. Lift was out of order and so they had someone to carry our bigger luggage up the 3rd floor. Room was dark and smelled like wet socks! The Only Consolation was the location was good. Thank... More

Only complaint is that Coffee making facilities are supplied but no cups for drinking only disposable plastic cups. Was very surprised to find the room was air conditioned unusual in Europe.Breakfast was excellent... The room could have been cleaned better. There where heaps of covweb in the room. The overall standard was ok concidering the low price we paid. I got the opertunity to look at one of the rooms higher upp and they where much nicer. Bring earpluggs; one can hear every sound made in the halway.

From Central Station, head towards St. Nicholas Church and just ask for directions from there. Excellent complimentary breakfast next door at the Irish Pub. The rooms are average, staff average, location excellent!

This hotel is in a brilliant position but the hotel its self is awful. We went to Amsterdam on a stag do and expected minimal excellence and most certainly got it. The beds were comfortable and had clean sheets and the rooms had air conditioning which was handy but the rooms were grubby and not cleaned properly. There was mood... More

If you have low standard then this place is for you. Poor service, filthy walls, hair always on bedding and towels and website photos most definitely photoshopped. The only good thing is the location and breakfast.

The hotel is located very close to the train station and is a walking distance to all the major city attractions. The hotel service is pretty much terrible, the rooms are very outdated. But if you're young and need a place to crash and spend the night that doesn't totally looks like a homeless hostel this hotel will be the... More

Only due to staying in this hotel for 2 nights I'm on my final night thank god.. One of the worst hotels I've been to in my life: I wouldn't recommend this to anybody. Wifi keeps going off, dead loud staff always shouting, rooms are shocking. If your planning on staying in this hotel I would try and cancel it... More

Me and 10 others stayed here for a stag do and it was good for what we needed. There's no windows to the rooms but has air con so we wasn't too bothered. We was told a good few times to keep the noise down but that's expected in a hotel and from 4 rooms of guys.

Staying in Red Light District (De Wallen)

Neighborhood Profile
Red Light District (De Wallen)
To visit Amsterdam and not explore De Wallen (the Dutch name for this area) or to go only to gawk at its saucier aspects would mean missing the opportunity to view some of the city’s most picturesque canals, historic landmarks, and impeccably presented examples of traditional local architecture – not to mention Amsterdam’s own Chinatown, Europe’s largest Buddhist temple and more local treasures. Sure, there are some less salubrious activities drawing the curious to this age-old part of time. Nevertheless, the Red Light District is still a very safe and incredibly fascinating area where at the turn of a corner you can be transported from the dingy glow of modern day neon red to a glorious 16th century Delft blue dreamscape.
