This hotel was in a great location only five minutes walk from Dam Square, so it was relatively quiet despite being on a main road. Entrance to the hotel was via the steepest, longest flight I've seen in Amsterdam - and I've seen a few. There's no lift option, so I was glad I was in and out of this... More

The room was small with bathroom. It's small but neat and clean. Great for friends staying for a cheap weekend holiday or just a cheap holiday in the city. 7-10 mins walk to the city. Last but not the least, the service is great. Really friendly and helpful staff. The hotel has a very high steep stairs as soon as... More

Me and my friend have just recently come back from Amsterdam we stayed in this hotel due to the fact it was close to the city centre and was a good price ! We knew that it wasn't going to be a 5* hotel but we weren't bothered. When we arrived they carried our bags up the stairs for us... More

It is good for a short stay of 2-3 days. The service was very good: the man from the reception carried our 2 suitcases upstairs, repaired a not-working light at once, gave good information about Amsterdam and was very nice. Our room was very, very small, (about 4m x 2,50 m, including the bathroom), which is quite normal for Amsterdam.... More

The hotel itself isn't anything special- the room we stayed it was small with an en-suite. Nothing particularly wrong with it, the size could have been better but you get what you pay for! Location makes up for it though- right across from Anne Frank's and only 5 minutes to Dam Square! Staff were nice, let us keep our luggage... More

We rented two rooms for two nights at the Sharm Hotel, May of 2015. The host took great care of us! Lots of steps to go up and he hauled our luggage up to our rooms for us. Great for the tourist who wants location and a reasonable rate. Great showers to rejuvenate the aching body. Would definitely stay here... More

Struggled up a steep flight of stairs with all our luggage with no assistance, to be placed into a cramped room directly behind the reception and office area, separated only by a thin wooden wall. Found the bathroom flooded, dust coating the cupboard, window and bed (inside and out), some sort of mould growing (thriving, actually) inside the radiator, everything... More

This UNESCO World Heritage Site is as historically significant as it is perennially popular.
