We loved the city such beautiful Canals and buildings . The hotel is a good 15 min tram from Centraal station and unless you have a good map difficult to find the hotel . Not very well signed . The owner was friendly and helped with our bags. However the steps are very narrow and steep probably normal for any... More

Just come back from Amsterdam. The Amstel river view was nothing that we expected. Top floor rooms steep narrow stairs. We shared the top floor with friends and the owner?? Very strange. The toliet and shower room need to be cleaned which I did myself. Empty used toiletries left behind. The room itself was big enough but beds are awful... More

Stayed here in August my room was quite nice and we had no problems with it, shared kitchen, bathroom and toilet but we knew that before booking. Stairs very narrow and steep but again we knew this before booking. One big problem with this place is that my daughter and her partner stayed next door in a very pokey room... More

This property had good size rooms however there was only one shower and one toilet per level. The stairs were a bit of a challenge with such large backpacks, lucky we were on the first level. The location was good, we were lucky enough to have a room with a river view. Was only a short stroll (15 minutes) to... More

Best advantage is the location. The room was good, but not pleasant to share bathroom with the other room, in the middle of the hall, the shower and the toilet are in different places. Lots of amsterdam style stairs, but it will get u the feeling from their architecture... Everything tiny and small, but if it is just to sleep... More

I couldn't believe how much the Amstel Riverview costs for what you get - a rather shabby room with shared bathroom and no breakfast, albeit with a lovely view. Our room (the one right next to the kitchen) had lots of scuff marks on the walls, could definitely do with a new paint job, and the headboards weren't attached to... More

Staying in De Pijp

Neighborhood Profile
De Pijp
Bustling Albert Cuypstraat serves as the main drag through De Pijp and the location for Albert Cuyp Market, the largest and most famous of Amsterdam’s many outdoor markets. Beyond this sometimes-frantic thoroughfare, tiny lanes beckon urban explorers in search of the latest trends and hidden gems. Nearly half the residents living in De Pijp are foreigners and a good number of them are students. Here you'll find a multitude of ethnic restaurants, great cafes and bars, and a brilliant array of locally owned shops, all catering to a broad range of budgets and tastes.
