Our host was very nice and welcoming. No request seemed too large, washing service was €7. The location is approximately a 30 minute walk from the city centre and is very close to trams and other public transport. The room is more than adequate and the shared shower and toilets are clean. We had the twin room one of them... More

We stayed here for two nights. We arrived via bus about 9am and he allowed us to check in and drop our bags off for the day until we came back for the night. The place was small but very much served all of its purposes. The toilet was a little cramped and the shower curtain needed to be changed.... More

Guesthouse quite close to everything. About a 15-20 minute walk to Rijksmuseum. Our room was very clean and light. After weeks of travelling, it was great to have access to a kitchen, so that we could be self sufficient. Comfortable bed, friendly host. Shared bathroom - not an issue for us but may be for others. Only downside for some... More

Tiny room with no space to move around , I felt instantly claustrophobic , shared facilities with owner who likes to leave aggressive warnings around the property in pretty much every room including the toilet saying you can't make tea or coffee after 10 pm or you'll be charged a fine, even though it was advertised as a unlimited tea... Nice staff, great having a kitchen. Pretty small place with a lot of stairs, shared bathrooms, essentially a small hostel. It's kind of far out of the centre (30 min walk)but nice view. Rooms are very small and a little dirty, probably wouldn't go back.

We stayed for 2 nights. The bathroom was lovely, our room was lovely. The toilet looked abit old and dated but was clean and acceptable. The shared kitchen was ok and a handy idea that I've never heard of before. We had tv in our room (with 1 English channel). The beds were nice and comfy. The main problem with... More

On arrival we basically had to sign a few forms, were given a tour, shown to our room and then we were left to our own devices from there. Which was fine with us. The roomm was nice for us, two single beds which we could push together, a TV (which we didn't watch) , wardrobe and THE VIEW!! The view... More

Just like every other place, there are good and bad sides to this place. Good 1. Location. Amazing location, close to the places you would like to visit in Amsterdam including the Zoo and the Center of Amsterdam. 2. Decent rooms. The rooms are decent. On the first day of our stay we got a room without the river view... More

Staying in De Pijp

Neighborhood Profile
De Pijp
Bustling Albert Cuypstraat serves as the main drag through De Pijp and the location for Albert Cuyp Market, the largest and most famous of Amsterdam’s many outdoor markets. Beyond this sometimes-frantic thoroughfare, tiny lanes beckon urban explorers in search of the latest trends and hidden gems. Nearly half the residents living in De Pijp are foreigners and a good number of them are students. Here you'll find a multitude of ethnic restaurants, great cafes and bars, and a brilliant array of locally owned shops, all catering to a broad range of budgets and tastes.
