This was my second stay in 6 months at this hotel, both times i have had a twin room (different rooms) on fourth floor. First I have given 5 stars based on its comforts as a budget hotel, when you stay in Amsterdam, expect to climb stairs or else stay in a luxury hotel. Although four floors up the stair... More

This hotel was nothing like advertised. First noticed sheets were dirty and asked for a clean pillow case. Had to ask twice because they forgot. Then the replacement was also stained. Towels were torn and shabby. Felt something crusty under the mattress and made the mistake of investigating. Stains looked like someone died in the bed - DISGUSTING and appeared... More

Dirty room, horrible service, shower broken no changing bed sheet and towels, TV not working! Only the position is quite good. Terrible In general, considering the price 350€ 3 nights, is one of the worst hotel I ever been! Money stolen!

In June, I booked one night at Acostar hotel and it was a great experience. Picturesque halls and reception. The room was tidy and clean, the staff was very friendly and hospitable. I often book a hotel in Amsterdam in 2-star hotels, but this one exceeded all of my expectations. Great value for the price and superb location in central... More

Firstly, this hotel is in a great location. We didn't use public transport once, just walked wherever we needed to go. The room was OK - very small and could have done with a lick of paint and some fresh curtains. Bathroom seemed disproportionately big. We were at the front of the building and it was very, very noisy. The... More

Lovely well appointed rooms. Very clean! Stairs a bit of a nightmare when you've been on your feet trawling the streets of Amsterdam all night but it's all part of the Amsterdam experience I think. Friendly helpful staff. Great location for exploring the city. Would return.

I don't no why people are moaning...fair enough no hot water etc. But the location of this hotel was the best. Tram stop 2min away, shops, food, canal, walking distance to attractions. We stayed for 3 nights, so much to see in Amsterdam this hotel is used as a place to sleep, our room had its issues but when your... More
