I travelled few times in Amsterdam in a younger age and I experienced very poor hostels. I think that in Amsterdam, as the biggest part of the clientele are youngs, the hotels dosen't really do any effort to put the quality above the standards. Location for Acostar is great. Our double room was tiny, but for a night stay was... More

The hotel is very central within easy walking of the canal rings. The trams stop at the end of the street too.Our room was on the fifth floor and there is no lift.My husband has angina and we had to carry our cases upstairs ourselves. Even I struggled as the top flight was narrow and twisted. The room itself was tiny. Fortunately... More

The location of the hotel was very good, near the centre and the museums. We walked everywhere. It was also near the bus that takes you to the airport. Our room was on the 4th floor. There is no lift so be prepared to carry your own suitcase up and down. The staff were friendly. We were at the front... More

I've made a groundfloor single room reservation, clearly specified in my email, and I've got a 4th floor single (more like a cell) room. The room very small, with no place where to put the lugagge; the window has the size of 2 times the airplane window, with no curtains. So when the gay boite stops (4:30 am) the sunshine... More

Just returned from my stay with my girlfriend and to be honest, for what we paid, I would definitely recommend this place. The room is unbelievably small though. Nowhere to put anything except a tiny wardrobe. However, the bathroom was gorgeous, double shower, very modern and probably half the size of the main room! The bay window at the front... More

We had a standard double room and it was very nice. Good comfy bed and nice to have a t.v. too. The ensuite was very nice, particularly the walk-in shower. Located in a quiet back street, but close enough (2mins) to a tram stop, shops and the museum quarter. 25-30 min walk from central station, 10-15 mins to Dam Square.... More

Our room was clean and tidy the ensuite was great but it was very small and had nowhere to put your bags. It was in a great location with a coffee shop next door and a bar accross the road and the bed was the comfiest bed I've ever slept on :)

We went to Amsterdam over Easter for two days and had a great time there. Everything was in walking distance to the Acostar Hotel eg. Oude Kerk, Heineken Museum, De Pijp Market, I AMsterdam sign, Hard Rock Cafe, Anne Frank, Redlight District... Location is GREAT! The Hotel was very clean, small rooms, big shower, didn't have an elevator to get... More

Staff was helpful in many ways, helped me to get around and gave generally good advice. But my room was a bit noisy and rather small. But unless you came to Amsterdam to sit in your hotel room, this is not too big a problem. Bed was good and comfortable to sleep. And shower worked well, so there was everything... More
