The location and view were amazing to be honest, everything else was terrible, we call the first day to get am extra key and some missing stuff for the room, like extra towels, water boiler, etc.. The guy didn't answer the phone at first and after contacting booking.com he answered and said he will come on the next day, which didn't happen for 4 days, so we had to be work around the missing stuff and had to wait for the others when going home, the location is amazing and the view is really good, but expect zero sleeping quality due to the noise outside and the heaters that don't work

Stayed here for 4 nights but to be honest should have left after the first one. If you are with a groups of friends on a stag or hen party then it is probably ok but anyone else stay away. It stank of hash although advertises no smoking, it was very dirty, the towels they supplied smelt, we wanted to use the kitchen but decided it wasn't clean or safe, the tap fell of the sink in bathroom and when we arrived had to call for a lightbulb to be changed and they just left us a new one outside the door to do ourselves. To top it off after telling us they would be back to check us out at 12pm nobody showed up so we just left leaving the door unlocked and keys on the table. They didn't take a deposit so we didn't care!!!

Me and my friends stayed for here for four days..and the Mice ruined it for us. The room is filthy and I do not recommend paying so much when you have to drag your bags up 8 flight of stairs. Plus, there s no breakfast included..well that is the least of your problems. I wish I read the reviews before I booked this place. The owner didn't even come to take the keys when we left. Guess he hates the lace as much as we did. Cheers to next peeps who get fooled by their representational pictures!

I stayed here in January and it has a few good things and a few bad things to say about this place. At first we thought we had the wrong place as the apartments main door is located down a strange side street next to a what seems to be popular coffee shop. As I called the number we had been given a to get the keys as no reception is available a man turned up on his scooter around 15 minutes later which wasn't much of a problem. When the host took us through the main door we had to walk up a filthy stair way with bones on the floor around the back of the coffee shop and bar in to a group of apartments. At this point we though "what the hell have we booked here!" But on opening the front door the apartment was actually a nice large place. Once we paid the rest of the money the man left us with the keys. We had a look around at first and seemed a great size as the place is a big open area downstairs and two reasonable size bedrooms upstairs. Cleanliness of the place is what I would say OK. The showers were pretty terrible as they had no water pressure power and the shower hose were snapping off. All in all the experience at Damrak apartments was average like I said in my review title Not really bad but not great either. Also take your own towels as they don't give you many.

Well, where to start in describing this apartment. Overall it's poorly equipped and hard to get to - 87 stairs and walkways. We saw mice running freely in the lounge area! Pluses- it's near the station and there's hot running water... Negatives- it has mice, very basic facilities, little kitchen equipment and lots and lots of steep stairs. We weren't in the apartment very much but even basics like spoons were missing. The bathroom was a mystery -Two showers but no curtain so that when 6 of us had had a shower we were sloshing about in water. We had a great time despite the apartment ! With some tlc it could be great.

It's difficult to explain just how bad this apartment was - we booked it for 3 nights for around €700 - and the fact we left at 7am the morning after arrival explains all you need to know. Firstly the minor things - previous guests rubbish was found in most drawers and cupboards, towels were dirty with black marks all over. Mouse droppings on towels and all over the floor. A filthy sticky floor in the lounge, a massive carton of rat poison unashamedly left for us to find in the lounge. Bedside drawers were full of crumbs and the shower drain was blocked with gunk so the bathroom was flooded after 1 shower. The whole place had the potential to be a great apartment - it's very central and large, but unfortunately it is so unbelievably neglected and obviously not cleaned so the whole place looks well-worn and tired. The walls had holes in and scuff marks everywhere, the white walls were bare and the place almost felt empty. Most drawers and cupboards were broken. I wouldn't expect any of this from a 1* hotel, let alone a fairly expensive apartment but the worst was yet to come...we were watching the tv in the lounge until late and as soon as it reached about 9pm the mice started to appear. They were running around the lounge all night looking for food and at one point we counted at least 7-8 in there at once. My guess would be that there are at least 10-20 mice living somewhere in this dirty, disgusting apartment as you could hear or see them EVERYWHERE. When we got in to bed you could hear them running around and scuttling under the beds. Needless to say we hardly got any sleep and left promptly in the morning. We booked a hotel for the other 2 nights and I will be making sure I get a full refund. People have previously commented that they were told not to leave food out as it attracts the mice, but the mice are already living there and don't need any encouragement. The owners obviously know this, hence the rat poison so I don't understand how they can neglect the situation and actually charge people for the misfortune of staying here. Please take my advice and NEVER stay here, it will only end up ruining your holiday. I've never seen anything like it, absolutely revolting apartment.

If you don't like climbing stairs this is not the apartment for you. The location is great, right across from the canal tours, grasshopper is a 2 minute walk, and really easy to navigate the city from here. We were met by Michél who was really friendly and informative, thanks Michél! Who explained the in's and out's to us. Be warned you will be expected to pay a €100 deposit, this is not communicated before your arrival. There's is also a risk of mice if you leave food or rubbish around. We will definitely use Damrak apartments again. Thanks for a great stay!

Where do i begin.... Location: - Right near sex museum and 3 mins away from central station. Right outside the canal cruise. Street was very in very dark and narrow. You would not know the apartment was there, its just a door on a back street. Arrival: - We arrived at 15:00 rang the buzzer for concierge and no answer. We had to ask a shop keeper about the apartment and he said we needed to ring the owner of the apartments to let us in. We waited 40 mins for the man to turn up. We had a 4 mins trek up and down the stairs to reach our apartment door. When we arrived in the room they required an extra 150 euro for a deposit which was not mentioned. He then forgot the card machine so we had to arrange another time for him to come back again we had to call him. Overall apartment: - In one bedroom wardrobe door hanging off, drawn on cupboard broken, windows would not close. Mans dirty underwear and clothes left in the draws. Two beds were not made (even though we stated 5 people on the invoice they had only 3 people were arriving). Two mouse holes covered up with tape and we had regular visits from them. Mouse droppings behind furniture and on beds. Only good thing was the view.

I booked this apartment for my son and four friends. They were a mixed party of 19/20 year olds who earn very little. My son is an apprentice earning £95 week and he saved up hard to go on this break. Once they had checked in he rang me quite upset because the greeter had told him that something had been missed off the contract we were sent and he needed to pay 100 euros for cleaning. He paid because that's the kind of person he is and didn't want to ask his friends because they too don't have much money. In fact one of his friends fell foul to pick pockets on the train and lost all his money. So they get to the apartment and another robber takes a further 100 euros off them. I booked one of the more expensive apartments for them and gave them a little towards it, so how come they said it wasn't great with loose sockets, and one or two not working. There were no window curtains or blinds in the lounge area even though one of them was expected to sleep in there. Also to reach their apartment they had to go one outside walkways twice to reach it. The owner contacted them on the last day and asked if they would like to stay a couple of extra hours, because they had a late flight and no one was booked in. He didn't tell them until after they agreed that he wanted 50 euros for the privelage. They said no that they couldn't afford it so he charged them 25 euros for 4 extra hours. I would book somewhere else if I were you.
