The rooms are tiny and felt very overcrowded despire there only being two of us. The photographer did a great job of making them look normal sized. The walls are also paper thin, so much so that you can hear everything and anything. At least the staff were nice.

The hotel is clean, the attention is amazing, the wifi works! the location is really good, you can walk from there anywhere and the subway station is close. The rooms are clean and have a really nice terrace.

The hotel was not only very clean but it was perfectly situated in a quiet area walking distance to every part in the city. The staff were also very kind and easy going answering all of our question and assisting in any enquires we needed. Definitely would recommend this hotel for the budget traveller

Good hotel clean and convenient. Not far from central. Metro also clean. Had sink problem on first night it was fixed soon as reported. Needed guide to get to airport by night bus the receptionist badly guided me and I also missed my flight so not good that way!

When we arrived in the evening at the room and separated the beds, there was a used condom lying on the floor and the sheets smelled strongly like smoked even though they said the room was cleaned and sheets changed before. We got another room which was ok, but still a hotel experience you don't want to have ever again.

Amazing hotel. The staff where so friendly and helpful. I would suggest they reseal windows as the noise from the streets can be heard. I am from a city myself so the noises didn't annoy me however some others may take a different view. The back garden I would offer decking, soft lighting and a soft lounge heated area. Maybe... This is a perfect hotel for a short stay in Amsterdam. The rooms are very small but clean. We had a room at the front but were told on arrival that if we wanted to move to the back we could do it the next day but it wasn't that bad so we stayed put. There is a tram right... More

My boyfriend and I stayed here back in April for two nights. It was a clean modern room. We only stayed here two nights so I wasn't too fussed about what it looked like as we'd be out all day and evening. Bed was comfortable after a long day of walking. The hotel was quite out of the city centre... More

I stayed here about 6 years ago, I think just after a refit. Now things are looking a bit tired. The hotel is clean and convenient, and the staff were helpful. On the minus side, I found my room unlocked both nights I came in (nothing missing), and they charge 4 EUR per day for wireless, which isn't good enough... More

Staying in Plantage & the East

Neighborhood Profile
Plantage & the East
The eastern edge of central Amsterdam provides visitors with the chance to imagine the city that Rembrandt called home (and to tour his historic house) while shopping like the thriftiest of locals at Waterlooplein’s massive flea market, or even enjoying a craft beer beside the tallest wooden windmill in The Netherlands. This verdant, serene, and stately part of town is home to Artis Royal Zoo, one of Europe’s oldest (and still best kept) zoos, and Hortus Botanicus, one of the oldest botanical gardens in the world. It's also an ideal setting for the Dutch outpost of St Petersburg’s Hermitage.
