Close to Waterlooplein and the City center. Also metro nearby. Clean and friendly. Coffee does not taste good. Ask for discounted tickets at reception for Waterlooplein parking and save 40%. Had the two rooms at the back inside. Recommendable. Third bed was provided without problems in one of them at reasonable price.

We stayed here for 3 nights during a city break to Amsterdam. The hotel was very pleasant. The staff were friendly and obliging with helpful hints around the tourist attractions. The hotel was in a good location with a metro station close by if you don't fancy the walk into the main city centre. The walk however were along the... More

probably the value/price for this hotel close to the city centre is convenient. breakfast options very limited. Staff sounded nice but I was extremely annoyed by the fact they were unable to verify my prepaid room through booking.com... They were anyway accommodating in changing from a noisy room to a quiet one. Room was a double and small but in... More

I stayed here for my 30th Birthday with 9 friends. From arrival the staff were very welcoming and happy to share knowledge of local areas. The hotel itself is about 30 minutes walk into the centre but very close to a metro. The rooms are large and very comfortable with a spacious bathroom. I didn't eat here so cant judge... More

Hotel Allure is great for its location - it is close (about 200m) to metro station Weesperplain (3 stops from the central train station) and close to the Amstel canal. It's a rather calm area, though one hears city traffic (trams, cars) from the street having windows towards the street. The hotel itself is in two old houses next to... More

Spent two nights here in July. The location is really good, right beside the trams and metro. Our room had a fridge which we found useful. There wasn't any air conditioning but there was a fan. We kept that on over night and slept just fine . Staff where nice, although we didn't actually have that much interaction with them... More

Booked in here for a few nights. Good location and easy to get to. Clean and tidy hotel and comfortable. Great shower, very powerful. Would happily stay here again. Nice friendly staff. Only downside was that there could have been free wi-if.

Quaint, clean, and well run hotel near to many of this cities delights. We were well looked after upon arrival by staff. Our room was neat, on the top floor and around medium in size, the bathroom was pretty small but manageable. You pay for wifi/breakfast which I thought was a bit of a downer considering the price of the... More

The room was nicely decorated and had a certain style which I liked. there was however no auto-climatization, isolation against noise and no free WIFI which was slightly disappointing as it grows for me to be a must have in today's hotels. The hotel was very clean, which I highly appreciated! The service was very helpful, also though they might... More

Staying in Plantage & the East

Neighborhood Profile
Plantage & the East
The eastern edge of central Amsterdam provides visitors with the chance to imagine the city that Rembrandt called home (and to tour his historic house) while shopping like the thriftiest of locals at Waterlooplein’s massive flea market, or even enjoying a craft beer beside the tallest wooden windmill in The Netherlands. This verdant, serene, and stately part of town is home to Artis Royal Zoo, one of Europe’s oldest (and still best kept) zoos, and Hortus Botanicus, one of the oldest botanical gardens in the world. It's also an ideal setting for the Dutch outpost of St Petersburg’s Hermitage.
