My husband and I stayed in the studio downstairs for 4 nights last november and it was a very good experience. Christel was there to welcome us when we arrived and gently gave us the necessary information to start walking around Amsterdam. She's really a wonderful host!!

We stayed in the studio apartment downs stairs for two nights. It provided everything we needed including a kitchenette. Even though breakfast wasn't supplied and only a bottle of wine, soft drinks and fresh fruit were listed on their website as included the kitchenette was stocked with a few extras like eggs, salad dressing, nutella etc. I am assuming these... We stayed here for 3 nights on a bed and breakfast basis. The accommodation is elegant and spotless, on a very quiet street within a few minutes walk from the city centre. It is also conveniently situated for the train station. Christel the landlady was fantastic and prepared us a delicious breakfast every morning as well as providing information on... More

Amsterdam at Home was the perfect place to stay for my 4 night/5 day birthday trip to Amsterdam. The house is absolutely beautiful. If only I could have taken the windows home with me! Christel was very helpful and friendly, and she prepared us a veggie-friendly breakfast with fresh fruit juice each morning which kept us energised until afternoon. Any... More

We have just returned (October, 2011) from our second stay at this great bed and breakfast. Once again, we were two couples who rented both of the available flats. The accommodations are comfortable, and Christel, the innkeeper, is amazing! We love the location, out of the normal tourist route and near enough to walk everywhere. Christel cooks a delicious breakfast... More

An excellent b & b, it can't be faulted. Cristel was a fantastic host, chatting over breakfast gave us so much information on the surrounding area, where to eat, what to see and the best routes to take to make the most of our 3 days. Breakfast was fab, smoked salmon and scrambled eggs the first morning, cheese, breads, apple... More

She is a true angel :) The B&B is right in the center and you can walk to all the sights. The surrounding neighbourhood is quiet an peaceful and you wouldn't think... More

The name of this B&B says it all ' Amsterdam at Home'. It feels like a warm confortable home and is located in a central location. The surrounding neighbourhood is surprisingly quiet and peaceful. The 2-storey apartment is spacious, clean, well decorated and very comfortable. I also stayed for 2 nights in the basement unit and found that to be... More

My sister, niece, and I stayed for nights in the beginning of Aug. We had a wonderful time staying at this B&B. We had the room upstairs with the kitchen and sitting area downstairs which was great. The place is decorated very nicely; the breakfast was great, and everything was perfect. The location was very good as it was close... More

Staying in Centrum

Neighborhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
