Booked this as we thought it would be a bit different !! Very reasonable and you definitely do get what you pay for. Room was VERY VERY BASIC and bathroom was TINY literally a shower cubicle with a toilet. Bed was like laying on a brick and the pillow had no cushioning !! (asked for a extra pillow which never... This hotel is VERY basic. However its cheap, clean and only a 15 minute ferry from Amsterdam Central so we loved it! The rooms are basic but decent enough. However, the walls are very thin. Luckily our neighbors were quiet but as we left we saw a huge group of rowdy men checking into the hotel so they probably kept... More

Cheap as chips. You get a comfortable bed and a tiny bathroom but you don't need anything else. Good location with frequent (free) ferries taking you to and from the Botel to Central station. Would stay again.

Easy to get to by the ferry, but reminds me of a place the sports teams from school would stay in. Reasonably clean and the price not bad but you don't get much. Does have a restaurant and a bar(you'll need it)

First night in Amsterdam, and our group stays at a Botel. Yes - it's a boat that is a hotel. You would think you would feel the movement of the boat while stationary in the water, but I didn't. Not until I got up the next day anyway. Conveniently located next to the ferry dock so you can catch the... More

Food wasn't as good as expected. Quite far away from town centre and ferries to the town stop at certain times so you can feel a bit restricted. Asked for a double room (double bed). Ended up with two small fold out beds with a very small shower which was mostly cold.

The Botel is a little bit out of the city, just a short (free) 10 min ferry ride across the river right behind central station. We loved the Botel but for those of you who may be clostraphobic this hotel may not be for you as the bathroom is rather small but functional. The staff were very friendly and helpful,... More

Botel is clean and comfortable budget accommodation. Beds comfortable. The adjacent ferry to and from Amsterdam Central station s free and frequent. Rooms are an adequate size tho the shower room is VERY small and the extract fan in ours didn't work. Towels were changed daily. Breakfast is not gourmet but eggs, bacon, sausages, cheese, yogurts, varieties of wonderful fresh... More

Stayed at the Botel in Amsterdam for a couple of nights. I had read the mixed reviews but thought it would be fun anyway. The accomodation is as you would expect 'cabin sized' but well planned and beautifully clean with beds made and clean fluffy towels daily. The breakfast was more than adequate with croisants, rolls, various bread, usual cheese... More

Stayed here for two nights on a stag weekend, the room was small for three grown men and the toilet/ shower room was very cramped but it was clean. The beds were comfy even if I had to sleep on the top bunk something I haven't done for quite a number of years. The bar was ok, charging 4 euro's... More

Staying in Centrum

Neighborhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
