The apartment was beautiful, with the feeling to be really at home .We could not ask of a better location, very quiet area , borders a huge park. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom is new and very modern. Apartment and amenities were excellent. From the fully stocked kitchen to the fireplace, lighting and desserts. Charles is an excellent... More

Charles looked after us wonderfully in the amazing Park Mansion Apartment - decorated with love and skill with hangings, chandeliers and original paintings. The apartment is across the road from a club area with a couple of jazz bars, plenty of small cafes and restaurants as well as the major museums and international class shopping. The Apartment is also in... More

There aren't enough words to describe our stay in Park Mansion. From the hosts, Charles and Egle were by far the best. They spoiled us with amazing breakfasts in the morning, wine and a delicious homemade apple pie. It was unreal, the good kind. The apartment is something out of this era. You feel like the Count of Monte Cristo... More

There is nothing more to say really. Everything you want, and much more than you even tought about. Beautiful stay, at a very good location. Food, wine selection, and also coffie selection was great. Charles and Egle tried in every way to make us feel like home. And they succeeded. Thank you for having us.

We could not believe what a luxurious place this was. All the amenities of an ultra deluxe hotel plus personal one on one attention to our every need. We were greeted with whatever beverage we desired (we had white wine). We were treated like old friends staying in an adjacent flat. The assortment of food, beverages, and amenities was excellent.... We would never stay in a hotel in Amsterdam after staying at Park Mansion. It is a truly lovely apartment, beautifully furnished and very comfortable. We really liked how light it is with views of trees from all the windows. Charles and his assistant, Egle, couldn't be more gracious or accomodating. The airline had lost our luggage for 3 days... Other reviwers have said it all. Its a wonderful apartment on the third floor of a very beautiful house. The place is decorated in Empire style, which is one that I like the most, it has an enormous living room, another piece to eat or work, a bed room and a small bathroom but recently renovated and it has all... We received great personal service from the owner, Charles. He made us feel like we were visitng a friend in Amsterdam & were not just random tourists. He sat down with us upon arrival & reviewed nice areas of town to visit & recommended several restauarants for us. We also received fresh croissants every morning & apple pie every day.... More

Wonderful stay – beautiful apartment, luxurious and opulent. We could not have wished for a more charming, kind, friendly and informative host. The location was minutes away from the Rijksmuseum, Van Gogh, Stedelijk etc . and also close (walking distance) to beautiful shops, restaurants, bars, clubs etc. We chose the additional ‘luxury’ package which was really excellent – champagne, patisserie,... What can I say? The previous reviews say it all: gorgeous (impeccable and spotless!) décor, splendid location ("a stone's throw" from the Riksmuseum and with views over lovely gardens to the rear and across to the Vondelpark from the French window in the magnificent sitting room of this "dignified" building and so forth. A well-stocked (foodwise) little "kitchen cabinet"--with halogen... More

Staying in Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)

Neighborhood Profile
Museum Quarter (Museumkwartier)
Top sites to see in this attractive and affluent part of town include the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh Museum, to name but two of the highly acclaimed museums of the aptly named Museum Quarter. And if you need a break from all the fantastic art, there’s the Neoclassical Concertgebouw music hall and Vondelpark, the city’s largest park. Shopaholics and luxury brand connoisseurs will love exploring the high-end shopping destinations of PC Hooftstraat, Van Baerlestraat, Cornelis Schuytstraat, and Jacob Obrechtstraat, where even the shop window displays are of museum quality. In the evenings, when the museums close and the daytrippers head home, the area becomes a quiet oasis of calm with a sophisticated and urbane tone.
