Wow, ok, here goes.... the apartment that we booked on line didn't and will never do it justice, squinting at strange little pictures on the laptop sitting in our bedroom couldn't compare with the wonderfulness of actually finding ourselves after a long day traveling , settled into comfort and luxury and being in Amsterdam, the apartment is clean, comfortable, modern... Just got back from a 3 night stay in the deluxe canal view room, it's a stunning, spacious room with fast free wifi (everyone loves free wifi). The only down side to the room is that the bathroom is separate, which was a shock as it said nothing on the booking. It's not shared but the corridor is so slightly... More

Stayed here last year with family. We had the family room on the ground floor and a double on the first floor. The guest house is very conveniently located. The owner was very friendly and kept the place very clean. The facilities were great with access to a coffee machine, kettle & fridge etc. Would definitely recommended!

My boyfriend and I stayed here last year for a night and it was absolutely amazing- such a brilliant room for the price we paid! We have stayed in Amsterdam before and we paid a lot more money for a tiny room in a hotel that was a bit further out of the city centre. Our room in the Amstel... More

We've just returned back from a two night stay at the guest house, and as pretty as the view was from the window, I do believe you can get better for your money. We stayed in the canal view room, which was nice and roomy, but we had a few issues. The mattress was awful. We arrived late on the... More

We were pleasantly surprised when we saw the room at this guest house...We booked the triple room on the ground floor. Very spacious and it was very clean. Ken was there when we arrived and pointed a few tips and was a helpful owner. Kitchen was also spacious enough, it has a nice seating area in front of the canal... More

Although slightly tricky to find due to the parallel canals, the location is central and quiet - a great combination. The canal view room is huge, has a gorgeous view and is quirkily and beautifully decorated. Having a proper espresso machine is fantastic. The bathroom is down the hall, so not very convenient, but it's a good shower. The TV... More

We enjoyed our stay in the Family room at Amstel Canal Guest House tremendously. Ken was extremely kind and helpful. The guest house is located in a very quiet area with just pedestrians and bicycles, no cars. Within walking distance to almost everything. The family room was really spacious for our family of four. Ken suggested to contact him directly... More

Staying in Centrum

Neighborhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
