I stayed there two weeks ago and to be honest I was really happy with the decision. The location is absolutely amazing, nice and quiet area but totally central The arrival process is quick, Kevin hands in the keys and pretty much after that it is like having a small apartment in the centre of Amsterdam Even though we got... I stayed at the Amstel Canal Guest House for two nights in Nov. 2015. Upon arrival, I was a couple hours early, but Ken answered the door and got me settled right away, carrying my bags up the tiny narrow staircase and then showing me the ins and outs of the house. As others have noted before, it is worth... More

We stumbled across this hidden gem online and I would recommend to anyone wanting to stay close to the centre. You can walk/cycle to most places from here, a walk to the busy Rembrandt square will only take you 5/10minutes. We stayed in the standard room and the room was very clean, tidy and the bed was very comfy which... More

A 60€ ride from airport to hotel , which is not bad. A three person room, with little kitchen, dining table fully equipped. No microwave or stove but good to make sandwitches or salads. Coffee, tea, drinking water. Confortable beds, clean room , nice little living room. Walking distance from anywhere downtown. We just saw the owner once when we... More

My Husband and I stayed here for two nights, ad it was not nearly enough. When we entered the building the smell was so fresh and clean and was always smelling great throughout our entire stay. The Guest House manager was very polite and accommodating with us. He walked us through to our room and showed us everything we needed... More

I had a nice stay here with my partner. We were welcomed by the owner Ken and paid cash on arrival. We stayed in the double room (no canal view, we were aware of this) The room was clean, nespresso machine with new coffee pods and tea each day. Rooms were also cleaned each day. Wifi signal was weak, however... More

Wow, ok, here goes.... the apartment that we booked on line didn't and will never do it justice, squinting at strange little pictures on the laptop sitting in our bedroom couldn't compare with the wonderfulness of actually finding ourselves after a long day traveling , settled into comfort and luxury and being in Amsterdam, the apartment is clean, comfortable, modern... Just got back from a 3 night stay in the deluxe canal view room, it's a stunning, spacious room with fast free wifi (everyone loves free wifi). The only down side to the room is that the bathroom is separate, which was a shock as it said nothing on the booking. It's not shared but the corridor is so slightly... More

Stayed here last year with family. We had the family room on the ground floor and a double on the first floor. The guest house is very conveniently located. The owner was very friendly and kept the place very clean. The facilities were great with access to a coffee machine, kettle & fridge etc. Would definitely recommended!

My boyfriend and I stayed here last year for a night and it was absolutely amazing- such a brilliant room for the price we paid! We have stayed in Amsterdam before and we paid a lot more money for a tiny room in a hotel that was a bit further out of the city centre. Our room in the Amstel... More

Staying in Centrum

Neighborhood Profile
Centrum
Amsterdam’s buzzing hub, with its sprawling network of tram rails and a seemingly constant flow of tourists and commuters, yields convenient access to some of the best sightseeing, shopping, and street life in Europe. Closest at hand are the Royal Palace, the quaint shops of Haalremmerdijk, the pedestrianized zones Kalverstraat and Dam Square with popular neighborhoods such as the Red Light District, and the Canal Ring hardly more than a moment’s stroll away. With the well-connected Centraal Station as Centrum’s base, it's easy to travel farther afield via one of the city’s iconic trams.
